UPDATES: An additional delegate reached out to TrevorLoudon.com. Scroll to the section “Trump surrogates sought to encourage boo’s during Ted Cruz’s speech” for details.

In the wake of the booing at Ted Cruz’s speech at the Republican National Convention this week, allegations that have been buzzing around in relation to Trump’s evident-attempt to destroy Ted Cruz’s career have come to light and should be explored:

Trump’s campaign had Ted Cruz’s speech well in advance

Donald Trump tweeted that he saw Cruz’s speech “two hours early.” But as reported at the Washington Examiner,

“Sen. Ted Cruz informed Donald Trump on Monday during a telephone conversation that he would not endorse the Republican nominee during his speech to the GOP convention.”

Cruz adviser Jason Johnson additionally claimed that Cruz “made it clear to Trump during an in-person meeting in Washington a few weeks ago that he would not endorse him…”

As also revealed at Twitchy, Trump surrogates had the speech well in advance. One of the most compelling tweets illustrating this is from Sean Davis of The Federalist.

If Trump knew weeks in advance that Ted Cruz was not planning to endorse him, why was there endless media speculation, particularly on the day of Ted Cruz’s speech, about whether an endorsement would be forthcoming?

Donald Trump did not honor the pledge back in March, as reported at Fox News.

When asked if he would keep the pledge he signed last September, Trump responded, ‘No, I won’t.’ The real estate mogul explained that he was taking back the pledge because, ‘I have been treated very unfairly,’ and listed the Republican National Committee and party establishment among those he believes have wronged him.

Here is the video (Thanks, Politistick):

of The Federalist additionally pointed out:

“The same day Cruz angered Trump supporters by not honoring a silly, political pledge to endorse the GOP nominee, Trump was quoted in a New York Times interview praising another authoritarian and asserting that he would ignore international treaties signed by the United States.”

An interesting observation from Glenn Thrush of Politico on July 18 2016 (before Ted Cruz’s speech) offers an explanation as to why Cruz was invited to speak, despite the fact that Cruz would likely not offer an endorsement of Donald Trump:

“Yet one of the reasons Cruz has held out this long (apart from his curdled-milk relationship with a man who falsely linked his father with JFK’s assassin, insulted his wife and all but accused him of womanizing) is leverage. Trump needs ‘Lyin’ Ted’ a whole lot more than Cruz needs him as this point, which is why he ceded a central prime-time slot to someone who is so lukewarm to him.”

Trump surrogates sought to encourage boo’s during Ted Cruz’s speech*

*SEE UPDATES AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS SECTION

Senator Ted Cruz presented a clear vision of conservatism during his speech. So at an RNC convention, why did people boo? Could it be, perhaps, that they were encouraged?

Pro-Cruz delegate Kendal Unruh from Colorado told TrevorLoudon.com that Trump surrogates “whipped the booing” in the “middle of the New York and CA delegations.” Unruh claimed that both RNC staff and some delegates were involved.

Kendal Unruh is not the only one who made the claim. Colorado pro-Cruz delegate Melanie Sturm (read her column here) told TrevorLoudon.com that she was by the Georgia delegation during Senator Cruz’s speech, to be as close to the stage as possible. Sturm explained that she “felt the eye of yellow-hatted overseers [RNC staff and volunteers] watching my every applause.”

She continued:

“When Cruz said ‘conscience’ it was instant combustion, as if a catalyst was dropped in a bucket of explosives. There was instantaneous eruption and people around me were motioning to turn up the volume with boos and shouts of Trump, Trump, Trump, seeming to want to drown out Cruz….”

Some also tweeted about the agitators:

With this in mind, consider Trump’s comments here:

UPDATE: A delegate who asked not to be named contacted TrevorLoudon.com in the wake of this report. “Jill” claimed that she “witnessed the whips filling the aisles with Trump supporters to block Cruz supporters from getting closer.” But not only were RNC staff whipping the boo’s, Jill explained, they allegedly brought Trump supporters in from other areas of the arena to the floor – despite that they did not have appropriate access – in order to flood the area around the stage where Senator Ted Cruz would be speaking.

Jill explained:

“They knew that Cruz supporters wanted to make a show of support, so they brought a bunch of folks down from the upper decks. I don’t know if they were authorized to be on the floor or not, since only those with Delegate credentials and press passes should have been on the floor.”

In addition, “Jill” told TrevorLoudon.com that additional security appeared to surround pro-Cruz delegates by state:

“But there were so many people on the floor that extra security was deployed. They told me they were there to enforce fire codes – the fire marshal supposedly told them that there were too many people on the floor, and they were telling us that if we left the floor we couldn’t be readmitted. It was a madhouse. The Utah delegation was surrounded by security, supposedly for their own safety.”

UPDATE II: Several other articles have highlighted similar stories.  TalkingPointsMemo, for example, highlighted the following tweets:

Texas delegates furious with Cruz

It was reported that Texas delegates were furious with Ted Cruz and indeed, some pro-Trump Delegates vocally condemned Ted Cruz for not endorsing Donald Trump.

As reported at the Washington Examiner:

“I am one of your delegates, senator. I supported you. And I expected you to keep your word and say that your word is your bond,” Sam [former La Marque Mayor Geraldine Sam] said to loud applause. She then said he shouldn’t have signed the pledge if he didn’t intend to follow through and turned her back on Cruz and walked away before he offered a response.

But consider the tone of some of the reporting:

Now consider a video posted of Ted Cruz walking into the Texas delegation breakfast:

As noted at the local ABC affiliate:

“Cruz’s brand may suffer in the short term. But Cruz is nothing if not consistent, and those who know him suggest that Cruz did exactly what they expected him to do. He stayed true to himself.”

Sheldon Adelson refused to allow Ted Cruz in his suite after Cruz declined to endorse Donald Trump

As reported at TrevorLoudon.com, this story appears to be a complete fabrication.

The mainstream media blindly reported ad nauseum that Senator Ted Cruz was turned away from Sheldon Adelson’s suite after he declined to endorse Donald Trump on Wednesday evening at the Republican National Convention.

But the mainstream media once again was regurgitating reports that they failed to vet.

The truth was reported at the Daily Wire and the Times of Israel, who cited Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, who disputed the reports. Rabbi Shmuley Boteach also said in a Facebook post:

“I know that the Adelsons did not snub Senator Cruz because I was present in their suite at the Convention sitting nearby for Senator Cruz’s address.”

The story about the Suite snub appears to have been started at CNN, who interviewed “a senior aide” to Sheldon Adelson named Andy Abboud:

Abboud “said Cruz was initially invited to come up to visit the Adelsons, but when he failed to endorse Trump the invitation was rescinded.”

This author has reached out to Abboud:

Trump surrogates are now actively attempting to unseat Ted Cruz as Texas Senator

Is it possible that Donald Trump is so infuriated with Ted Cruz for his lack of endorsement that he would want to take part in actively campaigning against him as he seeks re-election to the U.S. Senate? Is Donald Trump the type of man who would want to take down one of the few truly constitutional senators out of spite?

Considering that during a speech given to RNC volunteers on Friday, Donald Trump bizarrely and incoherently took his time to trash Senator Ted Cruz, revenge is not outside the realm of possibility. During his rant, Trump wondered whether he would be allowed to set up a Super PAC to fight Ted Cruz, should Cruz decide to seek the presidency in 2020.

He said, as reported at the Daily Wire:

“I like Ted, he’s fine. Again, I don’t want his endorsement. If he gives it, I will not accept it, just so you understand. If he gives it, I will not accept it, just so you understand. If he gives it I will – I will not accept. It won’t matter. Honestly, he should’ve done it because nobody cares and he would’ve been in better shape for four years from now if he’s gonna be – I don’t think, I don’t see him winning anyway, frankly. But if he – if he did I – it’s fine. Although, maybe I’ll set up a Super PAC if he decides to run. Are you allowed to set up a Super PAC, Mike [Pence], if you are the president to fight somebody?

According to TheBlaze, Trump enforcer Roger Stone met with InfoWars founder Alex Jones to “discuss organizing a primary challenge to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) after the former Republican presidential candidate declined to endorse GOP nominee Donald Trump.”

If Donald Trump was initially unaware of this scheme, surely he would have heard by now. Giving Trump the benefit of the doubt that he has absolutely nothing to do with it, one would think that at the very least, Trump would request his cronies to focus their efforts elsewhere.

“We’re actively looking for a candidate,” Stone told The Hill.

Trump doubles down on fake assertions about Ted Cruz’s father

As reported at the Daily Wire and alluded to above, Donald Trump went on a truly. insane. rant. against Senator Ted Cruz during his comments made to RNC volunteers less than 24 hours after he accepted the Republican nomination for the presidency.

Here is a small part of Trump’s speech. One has to wonder what is going through Mike Pence’s head as Donald Trump once again attempts to link Ted Cruz’s father to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Trump also regurgitates a debunked claim about how Ted Cruz probably knew about that Melania picture that prompted his revenge Heidi Cruz tweet:

See a partial transcript of Trump’s rant below, provided by Vox.

As Ben Shapiro observed,

“After talking about the success of the convention, Trump couldn’t keep his hands from the shiny object before him: Ted Cruz’s political career.”

Read the entire transcript and ask yourself whether Ted Cruz did the right thing in failing to endorse Donald Trump as the President of America:

If you turn on the television, if you turn on some of the dishonest media, you’ll see, “Oh well, this happened and this happened.” What happened?

Somebody [Cruz] got booed the hell out a place by thousands and thousands of people. There wasn’t one person in the room. Not one. And then they said, “there may not be unity!” Unity? There wasn’t one person in the room who wasn’t [booing Cruz] — including the Texas delegation, right?

Honestly he may have ruined his political career. I feel so bad. I feel so bad.

And you know, he’ll come and endorse over the next little while. He’ll come and endorse. But I don’t want his endorsement! What difference does it make? I don’t want his endorsement. I have such great endors — I don’t want his endorsement. Just, Ted, stay home, relax, enjoy yourself.

Just a couple of things: I knew his speech. They gave me his speech. I knew exactly what his speech was, because when you go up to speak, you have to give your speech. You know, we don’t want surprises, right? So they gave it, they came to me, they said, “It’s a boring speech, Mr. Trump. Nothing good, nothing bad. He just congratulates you on the victory and here’s the speech.”

Well he got up, and in the first two sentences, he added a sentence. In other words, he got up, and he added a sentence. Which could have been viewed as a nasty thing in terms of what he said because it was implying something which is wrong, but that’s okay.

So he took his speech — and you’re bound by that speech, just like you’re bound by the pledge. You’re bound by the pledge. So Ted Cruz took his speech that was done — was on the teleprompter — said hello, then made a statement that wasn’t on the speech and went back to his speech.

See, to me, that’s dishonorable. To me, not signing a pledge is dishonorable, okay? It’s dishonorable. Not a nice thing to do. And I talk this way because we’re all together. We created the one of the most successful conventions in the history of conventions. And the television ratings for this convention were through the roof.

[Trump then spends a couple of minutes talking about ratings, his wife and children’s speeches, and the length of his own speech before returning back to Cruz.]

Two other things.

Two other things, just to finish with Ted because I like Ted. He’s fine.

Again, I don’t want his endorsement. If he gives it, I will not accept it. Just so you understand. I will not accept it. It won’t matter. Honestly, he should have done it because nobody cares and he would have been in better shape for four years from now if he’s gonna — I don’t see him winning anyway, frankly. But if he did, it’s fine.

Although maybe I’ll set up a Super PAC if he decides to run. Are you allowed to set up a Super PAC, Mike, if you are the president, to fight somebody?

[Mike Pence shakes his head and mouths the word “no.”]

But there were two things that he said yesterday that were lies. Ready?

I didn’t start anything with the wife. A PAC, which he’s very friendly with, released a cover story on my wife, who’s this tremendously successful and elegant model, and she was on the cover of GQ magazine. I think it was GQ, right? And GQ magazine is not exactly Penthouse. But she was on the cover of GQ magazine. An artsy picture, but you know, she was a model. Really successful.

She didn’t need to marry me. She was making a lot of money. Believe me. In fact, I had to work hard to get her to marry me. It wasn’t that easy. It’s true. It’s so true. You think I’m kidding.

So they released this picture, which was — to the people of the state of Utah. I love Utah. I love the people of Utah. But that’s not necessarily where you want to send a risqué photo and everybody in Utah got a picture. And I don’t think they showed that it was GQ. I think they took the GQ off, they cut all the stuff out so you couldn’t see it was a magazine cover from, you know, a reasonably respected magazine. And it was Melania Trump. Now, and I’m saying this just to clear it up because Ted says “he took adv —” I didn’t do anything.

Then when I saw somebody tweeted a picture of Melania and a picture of Heidi [Cruz] — who I think, by the way, is a very nice woman and a very beautiful woman, I have to tell you. I think Heidi Cruz is a great person. I think it’s the best thing he’s got going and his kids, if you wanna know the truth. In a certain way, although he’s got good intellect but he doesn’t know how to use it. And he was a good debater but he didn’t do well in the debates against me, according to every poll. I mean every poll. Just a great debater except he lost in every single poll in every single debate.

So that takes care of the Heidi thing because Heidi is a terrific woman but they sent out — Now he said, “That was a PAC. We had nothing to do —” Folks, most of us are political people, right? We’re not babies. His people were on the PAC. So he said, “We had nothing to do —, we had to —” Now, probably, you could trace it down with emails, but they’re pretty smart, probably just used phone calls. But look, it was a PAC with many of his friends. It was a Cruz Super PAC. I think he even said, “Well it wasn’t really meant for us.” It was a Cruz PAC. It was his people.

Okay so they sent out the first picture. Please remember.

Okay. Number two.

His father. I don’t know his father, I met him once. I think he’s a lovely guy. I think he’s a lovely guy. All I did was point out that on the cover of the National Enquirer there was a picture of him and crazy Lee Harvey Oswald having breakfast. Now, Ted never denied that it was his father. Instead he said, “Donald Trump!” — I had nothing to do with it!

This was a magazine that frankly, in many respects, should be very respected. They got OJ, they got Edwards. If that was the New York Times, they would’ve gotten Pulitzer Prizes for their reporting. I’ve always said, “Why didn’t the National Enquirer get the Pulitzer Prize for Edwards, and OJ Simpson, and all of these things?”

But anyway, so they have a picture, an old picture, having breakfast with Lee Harvey Oswald. Now, I’m not saying anything. Here’s how the press takes that story. This had nothing to do with me. Except I might have pointed it out, but it had nothing to do with me, I have no control over anything. I might have pointed it out. But nobody ever denied — did anyone ever deny that it was his father? It’s a little hard to do, because it looks like him.

So here’s the story, they say, “Donald Trump and his conspiracy theories, he went out and said his father was with Lee Harvey Oswald, and he assassinated the president.” What’d I do?

So two things. Those were the two points.

So on those two points, he said about the endorsement — And I just cleared up, I think I’m doing the right thing in doing it but I have to do it. Number one: The Heidi thing you understand now. Number two: I know nothing about his father, I know nothing about Lee Harvey Oswald. But there was a picture on the front page of the National Enquirer which does have credibility, and they’re not going to do pictures like that because they get sued for a lot of money if things are wrong. Okay? A lot of money. And there was a picture, and that’s the only thing I know. So now they use the two things as the reason he won’t support me.

  1. The booing was completely orchestrated. There were three groups of young guys in their early 20’s that were strategically placed in the front row of the balcony. One on the left, right and center. Each group had about 8 guys in it. I was a delegate from Washington on the floor at the time, and I heard the booing. I looked around and couldn’t see anyone on the floor booing. It was fairly dark in the arena at the time, and I turned around and say the small group of guys at the front of the balcony behind me screaming and pumping their fists and booing. Since I saw nobody in our area booing, I kept looking and saw the other two groups in the balcony as well, also in the front row, strategically placed in the front row of the balcony. This was not at all a spontaneous response to a speech. It was a planned attack.

    1. I have no doubt, Kevin, the more I hear from delegates, the more obvious this becomes. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

  2. I am a Texan, born and raised. I lead a very, VERY conservative national organization called AmericaAgain! which is predicated on Christ and the Constitution.

    AmericaAgain.net

I do not know ONE Texan today who is a Cruz supporter. I do know many Texans — well, several dozen, anyway — who supported Cruz previously. In my case, I began with Cruz at the top of my list; ever since he announced.

But then I vetted Rafael the Elder; ‘pastor’ of *what* church, exactly? I could find nothing of the sort. An itinerant speaker who claims he knew his son was destined to be savior of America, ever since Rafael Jr. was a small boy. A rousing speaker, granted. But definitely no saint, and a serious Christian Zionist…the source of far too many unconstitutional war expenditures and incursions as it is.

Then I vetted Rafael the Younger. A brilliant intellectual; a ruthless debater and political slugger…and constitutionally ineligible for the office of president; viz…

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9PxdDvgQks

Joanne Scutari (aka ‘Publius Huldah’) was a JAG attorney when she was in the military, and while perhaps not as polished at the podium as Rafael Jr, she is every bit his intellectual equal. TED CRUZ WAS NEVER ELIGIBLE, AND HE KNOWS IT.

Now, if a man has a big enough ego, he knows no impediments to his life goals. What is suggested about Trump holds for Cruz. Rafael Jr. KNEW that he was ineligible, just as he was (technically) violating the Constitution when he took office as my junior senator (he was still a Canadian citizen). He waited over two years until this was pointed out to him, to finally give up his Canadian citizenship.

The American Church is an embarrassing zoo; willing to countenance over 57 million murders and millions of divorces in the Church — including pastors, elders, and deacons. Waving their US flags for demonstrably illegal overseas ‘deployments’ on behalf of the oil, banking, and war industries — and cheering for more, but bristling and cursing at ‘Islamic Jihad’ which is merely predictable blowback from 80+ years of death and destruction rained down on hundreds of Middle Eastern communities so Americans can have cheaper gasoline.

We don’t need Middle East oil; the Green River Formation alone contains estimated reserves of 750 billion barrels. But it will cost more (instead of cutting a deal with one tyrant sheikh) and require environmental brownfields remediation when they’re done (unlike the Middle East where drillers leave their messes behind).

Israel most certainly does not need U.S. forces to fight its wars; it can more than defend itself. But oil companies DO need a perpetual war in the Middle East; we’re talking tens of billions in annual profits. They kill for far less, and in this case they get their mercenary services FREE. (Taxpayer expense, not the banks and oil companies and war materiel producers; it’s all profit.)

But to hear ‘Ted’, this is all about “fighting for Israel”. What about the book of Hebrews? What about the U.S. Constitution…or do the Christian Zionists get to plunge all of us into eternal war for a state created in 1947 to make a smokescreen until the sands of Araby are pumped dry?

As a Christian and constitutional conservative, it makes me sick to see so many lockstep fools toeing the GOP line, with the Constitution in the dumpster. ‘Ted’ Cruz is NO constitutionalist, except as a *relative* measure.

Cruz is a poseur. I stood with a group at the Alamo on Martin Luther King Day in 2015 and challenged my junior senator to be an ‘AmericaAgain! Good Guy’; to support our plan to truly turn Washington DC organized crime on its ear BY REMOVING CONGRESS FROM THAT CITY.

We verified that Senator Cruz received our package, and that he did not even send us the perfunctory boilerplate response and add us to his mailing list as they always do. He completely blacklisted our request; the only full-spectrum solution in the republic. AmericaAgain! is in 116 communities and growing.

Lord have mercy, people. You strain at gnats, going postal about the rather inarticulate and sometimes embarrassing Mr. Trump — while swallowing the camel, Rafael Cruz, who was always ineligible for the office in the first place — thus, like Rubio, his very candidacy was a finger in your eye!

    D.M. Zuniga
    Founder, AmericaAgain!

    1. Thanks for your comment. But my question for you is: why are you posting it here? It has nothing to do with the article. Why not comment on the article itself?

  3. I watched as Cruz finished his speech. They showed the audience and you could hear the boo’s but you couldn’t see anyone in the picture booing. I guess it was a group in the front next to the mic. Sad that Trump supporters couldn’t except a great speech from Cruz. My question is what wrong with saying to vote your conscience. I think that was a bad move on Trump’s part and shows his supporters are brain dead to reality and only hear what they want to hear. But the media was told to trash Cruz because the establishment wants him gone. Does that mean Trump is helping the establishment get rid of the guys that stand with the People and the Constitution? Like I said, big fail on Trumps part.

  4. Trump has what is called a “hard-on” for Cruz. I think he’s jealous of Ted’s intellect, honesty, integrity, and the way Ted lives his life and all he has achieved while staying true to himself. Ted is everything Trump isn’t and Trump deludes himself into thinking he is those things. Trump clearly believes his own lies, which is a mental illness itself. My conscience will not permit me to vote for this narcissistic psychopath nor the pathological liar Clinton. That leaves me with Gary Johnson. Trump is a disaster and the death of the Republican party. I pray this election is not the death of America.

  5. Trump`s own mouth coupled with his childish and petulant nature are his worst enemies. The Clinton team only need follow his antics for all the political commercial material they need to trounce him.

  6. Seems that Cruz is living rent free in Trumps head. Trump’s narcissism knows no bounds, he cannot stand differing opinions, he seeks what most liberal politicians seek, mindless drones who don’t have the desire or ability to question the agenda.

Trump is the quintessential dirtbag politician, but he’s worshiped by his rabid fans. Sad really, after eight years of watching the left no question Obama at all, so many on the right are willing to do the exact same thing.

    2016 Choose your Dictator….

  7. Never voted for a democrat before, and I’ve certainly never sent on money. The latter will change this weekend and the former will change in Novemeber. I’ll be voting for an un-undicted felon.

    1. Hillary will flood the borders with illegals and we will never again see another conservative become president. Hillary is not an option if you care about the Constitution.

      1. Trump pretty much guarantees we will not see a conservative this election or ever. That fits with the establishment/uni parties plan. They are good with it.

        Gary Johnson, 2016

At least if we get him elected, it won’t destroy the Republican party the way Trump is going to.

        Sad days in America. 🙁

    2. There is nothing I agree with in Clinton or Trump. I don’t agree with all of Gary Johnson’s positions but I could vote for him and still look my grandkids in the eye. I refuse to wear the shame and stain of voting for Clinton or Trump the rest of my days.

      1. Gramma G, I agree. Trump is not stable. Ivanka calling him “honest” basically cancelled out her speech.

I don’t like Gary Johnson and think he is a little nutty, but he is the best of the 3 choices we have.

It would also be cool and a severe wakeup call for both the Democrat and Republican party (aka, uni party) establishment, if we busted up their little game.

        Gary Johnson, Libertarian – 2016!

  8. Trump’s rant and compulsive obsession with Cruz prove that he’s unhinged and psychologically unfit to be President.

    1. I cannot agree more, particularly after reading his insane rant from yesterday. It is terrifying.

  9. Texans mad at Ted Cruz for standing up for the values of the Republican party and voting his conscience prove that Texas values are looking more like New York values these days. Trump is a Democrat. A fool will listen to what a man says; a wise man will look at what he does before they accept who he is. Hello.. And, by the way..has anyone followed the bread crumbs of the whole Cruz speaking at the Trump party and seen that they lead to Mitch McConnel and other left wing liberals parading as Republicans who want Ted Cruz out of their way? Every Texan who sides against Ted Cruz is on the side of helping the RINOs sustain themselves with the status quo. And go ahead and say that Trump is gonna feed them their lunch!! He is a joke and his party is a joke and his party is not my Republican party and we need to take that republican party back from all the pretenders and restore it to what it was in the beginning. All about WE THE PEOPLE.

    1. I’m a Texan and all the Cruz supporters I know in Texas are more committed and supportive of Ted than ever before. Ain’t no New York values in these parts.

    2. I AM a Texan. I do not know of a single Texan who is upset at Cruz or who does not back him and his honesty regarding the need to vote based on one’s conscience. We love Cruz in Texas- and you’re correct- anyone who doesn’t IS a RINO! Texans support Cruz and he will win reelection if he decides to run again in the future, which we hope and pray that he does. He is of very few true constitutional conservatives and we NEED more people like him- not less. Trump voided the pledge months ago- that is fact. Cruz did NOT commit political suicide. He will be one of the few still standing when this destructive force of Trump finally self implodes. Trump IS the ultimate establishment RINO and his minions are merely tools of the establishment they claim to hate. Thank you Mr. Cruz for representing what real Texans know to be true. Trump is a fake and a liberal controlled by the establishment and has no problem losing to his buddy HRC as long as he gets to add to the value of his “brand”. This is all a game to Trump and his fans are losing pawns. Ted Cruz carries himself with class and that is something Trump will never be able to buy.
