Why is it Every Time I Leave Christchurch….?

The day before my recent trip to California my home town of Christchurch New Zealand was hit by a jolting 7.1 earthquake.

Now hours before I board a plane back to the US, we get a 5.0 aftershock – one of the best of more than 1500.

This one caused at least one shopping mall evacuation and blacked out at least one suburb.

Better stay home for a while after this trip. The Earthquake Claims Commission people may well detain me at the Airport next time.

Thanks to those who entered our caption contest. There were some beauties.

Thanks also to the many people who contributed donations after my last appeal.

I will now be in Washington DC and New York for more than two weeks, speaking, meeting and researching.

Blogging will be a little lighter than normal for a few days, but please stay tuned – I have some good stories in the pipeline – promise.

Thanks

Trevor L

  1. see you in DC. what i would do to be able to sit down over a drink with you and chat about the issues we face as Americans!!!

    safe travels…

  2. Actually, you are somewhat responsible for 'big quakes'. Just not the tectonic kind. More the waking up from a deep sleep kind.

    Happy trails Trevor!

    Keep up the great work.
