If child custody battles are often dirty now, Labour’s anti-smacking legislation will make many of them even nastier.
I was talking to a colleague a couple of days ago who is fighting for full custody of his two year old daughter.
I asked him he how rated his chances given the alleged anti-male bias of the Family Court.
He replied he was pretty confident because he was gong to “get her (his ex-wife) on smacking“.
He explained that his wife occasionally smacked the daughter and her older children by another marriage, so he would use that fact in court.
My colleague doesn’t smack, so he thinks he’s on to a winner.
How many other disgruntled ex-spouses are thinking the same way?
