During Saturday’s GOP debate, Republican Presidential candidate Marco Rubio “made a demonstrably and provably false declaration” regarding his position on Obama’s executive amnesty, as reported at Breitbart. Actually, he made two completely false statements before he made the statement explored at Breitbart.
This is what Rubio said:
“I want immigration reform to pass, I want people to be able to come out of the shadows, and he [Cruz] proposed an amendment that would have legalized people here. Not only that, he proposed doubling the number of green cards. He proposed a 500% increase on guest workers. Now his position is different. Now, now he is a passionate opponent of all those things. So he either wasn’t telling the truth then, or he isn’t telling the truth now…”
ACCUSATION #1:

In 2013, Ted Cruz wanted to expose the fact that ‘comprehensive immigration reform’ had nothing to do with ‘bringing people out of the shadows’ but had everything to do with getting them citizenship and the ability to vote. So Cruz created an amendment that would allow for legalization, but NOT a path to citizenship – knowing it would not pass and therefore exposing the Democrats for being hypocrites on this issue.

The democrats who call for Amnesty, you see, do not care about the plight of the immigrants. But they do care very much about those illegal immigrants as a potential voting block.
This is not the first time Marco Rubio blatantly lied about Cruz on this same issue, evidently believing as “sundance” does, that Americans are too stupid to do their own research.
ACCUSATION #2:

Ted Cruz has described himself as an “unapologetic proponent of legal immigration.” Cruz has not changed his position on legal immigration, but he wants to ensure that legal immigration via the H1-B program is “suspended until we can be certain that the program is no longer being abused.”

Breitbart’s Julia Hahn highlights Marco’s third lie.
“In response to attacks leveled against him by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rubio made a demonstrably and provably false declaration about his position on President Obama’s executive amnesty. Rubio even accused Cruz of ‘telling lies’ about his position on executive amnesty– even though nationally-televised video footage of Marco Rubio confirms Cruz’s allegation, and reveals that Rubio lied in front of a nation-wide viewing audience during tonight’s debate.”
Calling out Rubio on amnesty, Cruz said:
“Marco right now supports citizenship for 12 million people here illegally. I oppose citizenship… Marco has a long record when it comes to amnesty. In the state of Florida, as Speaker of the House, he supported in-state tuition for illegal immigrants. In addition to that, Marco went on Univision in Spanish and said he would not rescind President Obama’s illegal executive amnesty on his first day in office. I have promised to rescind every single illegal executive action, including that one.”
Rubio responded by jabbing Cruz, saying that he did not speak Spanish and further “accused Cruz of fabricating the entire account:”
“Look, this is a disturbing pattern now, because for a number of weeks now, Ted Cruz has just been telling lies,” Rubio said. “He lied about Ben Carson in Iowa (no, he didn’t). He lies about Planned Parenthood (no he didn’t). He lies about marriage (no, he didn’t). He’s lying about all sorts of things. And now he makes things up.”
So, Cruz responded to Rubio’s assertion that he could not speak Spanish…in Spanish:
A picture says a thousand words, and for some reason that picture does scream at me. Donald and Marco look pretty chummy and actually look a little secretive, like they’re discussing strategy.
It’s been real interesting to me how Donald has tried to cozy up with people to gang up on Cruz, imo. He all of a sudden is Ben Carson’s biggest defender, even though one can say that Donald Trump had a lot to do with Carson’s fall in the polls. Ben Carson ONLY made a real point to criticize Ted Cruz, EVEN THOUGH Marco Rubio’s team was reportedly pushing the “Carson is dropping out” line before Cruz’s team did.
Meanwhile, as Ted pointed out, Donald and Marco are doing the EXACT same thing- calling Ted a liar when he points out things that they themselves have said or done.
Donald has NEVER really criticized Marco, other than to ask, “Why does he drink so much water?”
Marco better be careful if he made a deal with the devil though. If by some chance they would bump Cruz down to third place or lower, Trump certainly wouldn’t hesitate to go scorched earth on Marco if he can!
As an aside, I think we really need to somehow find out if Trump actually did offer Sarah Palin a place in a potential Donald Trump administration for an endorsement. If he did, and it could be proven, I’m pretty sure that’s a violation of federal election law. I could be wrong. He might be okay, but I know someone explained that at least publically saying “Sarah Palin will be my energy secretary” before you’re even elected would be against the law, as one example. This person told us Cruz was dangerously close to violating the law just by throwing out the idea that Jeff Sessions could be the head of Homeland Security at an event in Alabama. And admittedly, it would probably be challenging to prove.
