America’s three most effective illegal immigrant amnesty activists were all members of Barack Obama’s Latino Advisory Council in 2008.
The three key “Amnistas” are Arizona Congressman Raul Grijalva, Illinois Congressman Luis Gutierrez and SEIU Executive Vice President Eliseo Medina.
All three work closely together. All three are staunch allies of the President. All three have Marxist backgrounds. All three want to use Latino immigrants to create a socialist America.
Raul Grijalva is, like the President himself, a disciple of Chicago radical Saul Alinsky.
“I’m a Saul Alinsky guy, you know, that’s where I learned this stuff,” Grijalva told socialist journal In These Times.
Also, like the president, Grijalva has close ties to the Communist Party USA – even penning an article for the party’s Peoples Weekly World back in November 1993.
Grijalva has been very active in immigration issues in Arizona, but in 2009 he joined with Luis Gutierrez and other elected officials and launched a new push for comprehensive immigration reform, building to the opening months of 2010. Their banners read: “Reform Immigration FOR Families” and “Family Unity Cannot Wait.”
Luis Gutierrez became an Alderman under Chicago’s socialist mayor Harold Washington and belonged for many years to the pro-Cuba Puerto Rican Socialist Party. He has been working to pave the way for illegal immigrant amnesty since the early 1990s. First in Chicago, later nationally.
And like the President, Gutirrez has long been close to the US’ largest Marxist organization Democratic Socialists of America.
Below, Gutierrez is listed speaking at a DSA sponsored forum in Chicago in 1998 with DSAers Dolores Huerta, Rep. Danny Davis, Jose LaLuz (later head of Latinos for Obama) and Stan Gacek.
Like the President (who was an actual member), Gutierrez was close to the Democratic Socialists of America sponsored New Party in Chicago in the mid-1990s.
Eliseo Medina is a leading member of Democratic Socialists of America, but is also a big fan of the Communist Party’s Peoples’ Weekly World.
“For us, the PWW has been and always will be the people’s voice”
Medina has led the charge in the US labor movement to turn unions away from their traditionally anti-illegal immigrant stance, to one of ardently supporting mass amnesty.
This has been helped by the fact that the AFL-CIO was taken over by Democratic Socialists of America in 1995 and now toes the socialist line on every major policy issue.
In 2009, Medina revealed the true purpose of amnesty, while addressing a “progressive” conference in Washington, D.C.
Speaking of Latino voters, Medina said “when they voted in November, they voted overwhelmingly for progressive candidates. Barack Obama got two out of every three voters that showed up.”
So I think there’s two things that matter for the progressive community.
Number one, if we are to expand this electorate to win, the progressive community needs to solidly be on the side of immigrants, that we’ll expand and solidify the progressive coalition for the future…
Number two. “We reform the immigration laws, it puts 12 million people on the path to citizenship and eventually voters”. Can you imagine if we have, even the same ratio, two out of three?
If we have eight million new voters who care about …… and will be voting. We will be creating a governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle..
In other words, illegal immigrant amnesty is about giving the Democrats and their socialist and communist masters permanent, unchallengeable power… “not just for an election cycle.”
