Presidential candidate Donald Trump’s unhinged ally Roger Stone has been pushing the fake narrative that if former Trump delegates vote for Cruz, they are somehow traitorous thugs who deserve a personal visit to their hotel rooms.

In order to win the nomination, a candidate needs to acquire 1237 delegates prior to the Republican convention.  If none of the candidates achieve the magic number of delegates, the delegates hammer it out at the convention, which will take place in Cleveland, Ohio from July 18 to 21, 2016.

As explained by William A. Jacobson of Legal Insurrection:

“If Trump falls short of that majority on the first ballot vote, even by one delegate, most of the delegates are released to vote as they want on the second and subsequent ballots.”

In anticipation of potentially losing the delegates once they are released, Stone has created a back-up plan designed to deceive Trump supporters into believing that the “establishment” stole votes from Donald Trump.

It is a lie.
