Russia/Putin has a solid history of TAKING whatever they/he can get.
This information is a significant component into the need for US energy independence. It would hit Putin economically. US energy independence and export, supplying Europe, would greatly reduce all sort of Putin activities without the need to “negotiate” with him, by significantly reducing his income.
And, this US impact is indirect, so is not meddling in other countries, something always resulting in world-wide and internal complaints.

More political stupidity. Pandering to Putin is absolute nonsense. No one is going to manipulate Putin. Putin will negotiate reality. That is the best approach to Russian-American rapprochement and constructive approach to cooperation.
