  1. Yeah, well shoot yourself in the foot honey, with your right wing idiocy.

You need to be English I guess but you ever heard about the dickhead who borrows the pair of boots to walk 20 miles to vote Tory ?

Oh, sorry, you don't understand and it ain't got nought to do with not being English just with being dumb.

Yeah I got it, fantastical thicko right wing living in some trailer park. Sorry for you dear.

  2. It's true — the big entitlements are a serious problem. My hubby and I are at the age where a cut in them will hurt us terribly. Terribly. We would lose what little we have.

And my mother is 83. She relies on it as well. And we're trying to help take care of her.

Okay. That said, we DO NEED TO REDUCE AND LIMIT THE SIZE OF THE FEDERAL GOVT.

And perhaps the answer to the entitlements will be to shift them — over time — into different types of private accounts. Marco Rubio and others have some good ideas on these issues.

BUT there are many bureaucracies that are growing by leaps and bounds. Let's eliminate the Dept. of Education and return the education of our youth to the states and the individuals.

I'm sure many other departments and agencies in the federal govt. could be eliminated as well. Let's loosen the death grip of the Executive Branch on our government.

Let's repeal the amendment that has Senators being elected by popular vote — and get back to the Founders' plan — that the State Legislatures put them in the Federal Govt. to represent well, the States. If that were the case, we could get a vote against ObamaCare in the Senate as well as in Congress.

But the Tea Party has a strong contingent of individuals who have paid–by govt. fiat– into social security all their working lives. It's hardly fair now to pull the rug out from under those of us who haven't been able to pay into a non-governmental system. Those of us who haven't had higher paying jobs, those of us who have lost so much from the economic collapse, those of us who are actually disabled, etc., really do find it difficult to let go of our little bit of money that we were forced to give the govt. My hubby has been self-employed for years, paying far more into the system than those employed by others.

It's not going to be easy, and we're already feeling a tight pinch. Scary, really.

  3. He is absolutely right. When he talks about ss and medicare he is not talking about taking it away from seniors already using it. It's time to get real people.
Following the constitution means giving the power back to the states and cutting everything or we will not have a country left. The average person that pays into ss for 30 years collects the money they paid in… in two – three years. My mother is 84 and hasn't paid into ss or medicare for 25 years. We cannot afford this ponzi scheme anymore. This is not a R or D thing it's an american thing.

  4. Whenever there is talk about cutting government spending, the knee jerk reaction is to talk of cutting Medicare and Social Security.

Yes, both are a gigantic government expense, but seniors have and continue to pay into it even when receiving "benefits". You can judge a country's character by the way it treats its elders!

However, why doesn't the cutting of expenditures focus on our government stopping "giving money" to foreign countries?

Why doesn't the government cease and reverse all the sweetheart percs they have given themselves?

Why don't they lay off half of the government employees who bloat government bureaus?

Why don't they cease and reverse government retirement plans? We should all sail in whatever boat we have.

Surely these would save tens of billions of dollars now and in the future.

Why do we have troops in foreigm countries? They are not necessary. We should not be the policemen of the world.

Why do we give tens of millions of dollars to the United Nations? We are vilified every day in that "Useless Nuisance".

Let's be honest about cutting waste and expenditures, not to mention all the expense accounts that allow our PUBLIC SERVANTS to live high off the hog!

  5. I don't see how having two Islamic Democracies, one on each side of Iran, can be anything but GOOD for America, freedom and the World!

In addition, we overthrew a brutal dictator and liberated the Iraqi people and we're bringing more stability to Afghanistan and more liberty to its people.

    Freedom is not free!

So, what is the beef really?
