Venezuela Moves Towards One Party Tyranny

From Cuba’s La Prensa Latina

Caracas, Sep 7 The Venezuelan United Socialist Party announced Friday actions for its foundational congress, scheduled for October 20.

The organization’s promoting commission determined the election on September 29 of a spokesperson in each of the 14,000 battalions, or grassroots groups.

Four commissioners will be chosen for subjects like politics and ideology, organization, logistics, propaganda, and social work.

The schedule establishes that every ten battalions, they will create a socialist district, which will have ten spokespersons and 40 commissioners.

Those authorities will be in charge of choosing the 1,400 delegates that will participate in the foundational congress, the closing of which will be determined according to the debates’ progress.

Those who aspire to become PSUV members will work at the same time for the constitutional reform bill, proposed by the Republic’s President Hugo Chavez.
