Social Media Fascism: Steven Crowder Demonetized By YouTube Because Vox Columnist Gets Feelings Hurt

The Internet is arguably one of the biggest blessings and curses to ever come along for a myriad of reasons. It started out as a platform for free speech and ideas but fascist leftists and others just couldn’t leave it alone. Then social media became part of all our lives and the leftist developers treated us just like a bunch of pigs that they feed and build a pen around for years and then eventually shut the gates, imprisoning the pigs. A whole community of fat, happy, clueless pigs led to slaughter.

First, they came for Alex Jones because he was extreme and could be denounced. Then they came for John Hawkins and Right Wing News… the largest conservative site on the web. Then they came for me as the editor and one of the lead writers of Right Wing News and shut my sites down on Facebook. Then they went after Brian Kolfage, a triple-amputee veteran who now oversees #WeBuildTheWall. They went after Laura Loomer and a myriad of others they wanted to silence. Now, YouTube has demonetized Steven Crowder of Louder with Crowder and he is just the opening salvo to the demonetizing of thousands of accounts over there. It’s sheer censorship.

From The Daily Wire:

“On Wednesday, one day after they stated that the videos of comedian Steven Crowder did not violate their policies, YouTube suddenly shifted and decided to demonetize Crowder’s videos, a chilling decision that engendered fierce criticism from defenders of free speech. YouTube was prompted to take a look at Crowder’s videos by Vox’s Carlos Maza, who reported the comedian for making jokes about his ethnicity and sexuality.

“That prompted YouTube to respond on Tuesday:

“Thanks again for taking the time to share all of this information with us. We take allegations of harassment very seriously–we know this is important and impacts a lot of people. Our teams spent the last few days conducting an in-depth review of the videos flagged to us, and while we found language that was clearly hurtful, the videos as posted don’t violate our policies. We’ve included more info below to explain this decision: As an open platform, it’s crucial for us to allow everyone–from creators to journalists to late-night TV hosts–to express their opinions w/in the scope of our policies. Opinions can be deeply offensive, but if they don’t violate our policies, they’ll remain on our site.Even if a video remains on our site, it doesn’t mean we endorse/support that viewpoint. There are other aspects of the channel that we’re still evaluating– we’ll be in touch with any further updates.

“But then, on Wednesday morning, this shift: “Update on our continued review–we have suspended this channel’s monetization. We came to this decision because a pattern of egregious actions has harmed the broader community and is against our YouTube Partner Program policies.”

“After YouTube stated Crowder would have to remove the links to his T-shirts, they decided to look at his whole channel, saying, “Sorry for the confusion, we were responding to your tweets about the T-shirts. Again, this channel is demonetized due to continued egregious actions that have harmed the broader community. To be reinstated, he will need to address all of the issues with his channel.”

“The Washington Post was unhappy with YouTube initially avoiding punishing Crowder, tweeting, “A right-wing YouTuber hurled racist, homophobic taunts at a gay reporter. The company did nothing.”

“Maza doesn’t seem to have a problem encouraging assault on people he disagrees with:

“Free speech advocates were furious with YouTube’s decision:

“Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro: “Okay, if this is the game now, let’s play. This nonsense works both ways. Please explain why it doesn’t harm the broader @YouTube community when Samantha Bee calls Ivanka Trump a ‘feckless c,’ when Colbert calls Trump a ‘c holster’ for Vladimir Putin.”‘

Maza is a Media Matters stooge who writes for Vox and got his itty, bitty feelings hurt by Steven Crowder. So, he whined to YouTube, who initially said that Crowder did nothing wrong, but then caved to pressure and demonetized Crowder once the leftists got their bully pants on.

I’m not in favor of the federal government controlling social media but I do think they should be subject to anti-trust laws. These platforms got grants and financing originally because they claimed to be non-partisan which never was the case. Break them up and let the free market have a chance to even things out here as we did with AT&T.

YouTube was blunt: “Update on our continued review–we have suspended this channel’s monetization,” YouTube tweeted. “We came to this decision because a pattern of egregious actions has harmed the broader community and is against our YouTube Partner Program policies,” the online video company added.

This was after saying the exact opposite mind you: “As an open platform, it’s crucial for us to allow everyone–from creators to journalists to late-night TV hosts–to express their opinions w/in the scope of our policies,” read the previous statement from YouTube. “Opinions can be deeply offensive, but if they don’t violate our policies, they’ll remain on our site.” These people are raging hypocrites.

Maza bitched and complained for six straight days and pitched a tantrum until YouTube caved. Media Matters surely pressured them as well. And this is just the beginning. A number of leftist outlets such as BuzzFeed are actually backing Crowder on all this. They know what Maza has now done means thousands will lose their revenue sources on YouTube.

“You’re being given a free pass as a crappy writer because you’re gay,” Crowder said in one of the videos. He also uses the word “queer” in reference to Maza several times. Well, boo fricking hoo. All of us have been called much, much worse than that. Act like an adult and don’t go to Crowder’s content if you don’t like it. Get over yourself already.

I’m not alone. Via Breitbart: “Other social media users took issue with Maza’s campaign to have Crowder banned. Disabled Internet personality Ricky Berwick posted a profanity-laced video in response to Maza, whose Twitter handle is “gaywonk,” stating that he has been “called every name in the book” but would not ask YouTube to censor his critics, advising Maza to “log off” if Crowder bothers him.”

I like what Ben Shapiro said over all of this: “If @YouTube is now going to police insulting speech — not violent speech, not incitement, not actual fake news — because a virulently censorious, radical activist masquerading as a journalist complains about being insulted, they’re a joke.” Only no one is laughing over this.

YouTube announced Wednesday the increased tilting of its platform toward “authoritative” sources and away from “borderline” videos on its official blog, alongside a slew of other changes. “In addition to removing videos that violate our policies, we also want to reduce the spread of content that comes right up to the line,” YouTube explained in the unsigned blog post.

And here comes more fascist censorship and manipulation: “Our systems are also getting smarter about what types of videos should get this treatment, and we’ll be able to apply it to even more borderline videos moving forward. As we do this, we’ll also start raising up more authoritative content in recommendations, building on the changes we made to news last year,” the blog post stated. “For example, if a user is watching a video that comes close to violating our policies, our systems may include more videos from authoritative sources (like top news channels) in the ‘watch next’ panel,” it continued.

Under the guise of stopping hate-speech, social media is clamping down on everyone that does not agree with leftist stances. They are killing free speech. The left can spew hatred, violence, and viciousness all they want and get a pass… but even the most minor offense will get a conservative booted. The purge has now kicked into high gear and the gate is closing. Many people built businesses on social media that are their sole income and suddenly… they have nothing.

It’s small comfort that the left is also destroying themselves here. They have also destroyed free speech on the Internet and figure they have won. No, they haven’t. That’s not how America was founded and the fight has just begun to retain our constitutional rights and freedoms. By silencing the right, you empower them and will form a massive movement behind them. Be careful what you wish for.
