“President Trump loves to take credit for numbers like this…but alot of economists are saying that this is an economy that’s rolling on it’s own momentum here…” – CNN’s Christine Romans, January 5 2018
President Trump is presiding over the American black unemployment rate being the lowest in history. In the video below, CNN cannot bring themselves to give Trump any credit and instead uses their most creative mental gymnastics to give the credit to Obama.
And despite the fact that 12.3% of the U.S. population is black, CNN also wants you to know that more white people were hired last year, a “disparity” which is partially “explained by economic inequality.” The entire ridiculous article, written by fake news author Patrick Gillespie basically informs readers that white people have all kinds of privilege.
Here is a #FakeNews excerpt:
Job growth among black Americans maintained momentum last year. About 480,000 black Americans got a new job last year, which marked the eighth straight year of job gains. Still, about 1.2 million white Americans got hired last year, more than double the gains for black Americans. Some of that disparity is explained by economic inequality while another factor is that the white labor force is significantly higher than the black labor force.
A disproportionate number of black Americans tend to work in industries that have many low-wage jobs, such as retail, restaurants and bars. Median weekly earnings for black Americans last fall were $696 compared to $887 for whites and $1,010 for Asian Americans. Hispanics’ median weekly earnings were the lowest at $655, according to the most recent Labor Department figures.
Black men earned $744 a week compared to $965 for white men. Black women were paid $658 weekly, lower than the $791 white women earned.
Interestingly, the author notes that Hispanics make less than black Americans and Asian Americans make more than white Americans. Is that due to “Asian Privilege”? Is there “economic inequality” among Asian Americans and white Americans?
One would think that CNN Money would be more likely to report about finance and leave the political commentary to others. But no.
