It is being reported that Kevin Janson Neal, the suspect in the case of the horrific Rancho Tehama School shooting is the same man who was arrested earlier this year for an assault against an elderly person that resulted in likely “great bodily injury.”
From the police logs on February 2, 2017:
Kevin Janson Neal: 43, of Corning was arrested Tuesday in the 6900 block of Bobcat Lane in Rancho Tehama. He was booked into Tehama County Jail on the charges of assault with deadly weapon not firearm or force, great bodily injury likely, battery on person, crime against elder or dependent adult, discharge firearm with gross negligence and false imprisonment with violence. Bail was $160,000.
His bail was set at $160,000. Yet he was free and armed less than a year after his vile crime to terrorize his neighbors and to allegedly murder yet-unnamed innocent people – selected randomly – at an elementary school.
From the local NBC affiliate:
“At least five people, including the alleged gunman, have been killed following a shooting spree in Northern California that ended near an elementary school. Two children were wounded and have been transported to local area hospitals.”
Watch a local report about how neighbors have been terrorized by Kevin Janson Neal:

California has the strictest gun control laws in America. The question should not be whether there should be more gun control.
The question is why was Kevin Janson Neal free to roam California?
I realize the politicians, without showing an ounce of compassion or sorry for these families, will jump on guns, but I think first, our hearts and love should go out to the victims of this shooter. I don’t know how to do it, but I wish someone would set up a fund for the families who lost love ones to help with their burial and final expenses and to help them get by until they can adjust to the lost of their families.
After the attack on the neighbor with a gun @ a knife. How was he able to still live in the same place. The poor lady must have been in fear of her life 24 7! An facing charges still had guns ??? The courts missed a lot here. At least the nut case is gone . God Bless the family’s .
Thank you, Irene! This is exactly right.
Judges who release dangerous felons should go to prison; there are too many of them responsible for crimes like this.
The problem isn’t gun control, it’s mental illness.

Especially with a GUN… and how/when did he get it?
More evidence that criminals don’t care about gun control laws.
And too many politicians will scream for more gun control. Instead of more criminal control, which in California, they are decriminalizing more and more.
100% absolutely nailed it. Jerry Brown and the Sacto idiots have blood on their hands as they move about their daily lives with armed security
Moonbeam Brown and all in the CA Legislature should be impeached at the very least. I agree with David Gonzales–control the criminals, not guns!
CA Senate Democrats legislating to remove 10 year mandatory minimum for gun involved crimes. This was in response to a black teen who was sentenced for 10 years as an alleged passenger in a drive-by shooting. The teen claimed he did not carry a gun when vehicle and occupants were apprehended. Gangstas are tough sitting in a car, but always cry when sitting on a curb.
how did he get it? black market or family, which is how the majority of guns used in crime are acquired
the real issue is whoever voted AB109, prop 47 & prop 57 are responsible. he never shouldve been out, especially after assaultin an elderly person with great bodily harm
Because our state government is SOFT on crime… they are letting prisoners out of prison. The criminals know there are NO consequences for their crimes. Revolving door at the jail. Blame Governor Brown and his Cronies… the blood of these innocent people are on their hands! They want to ban guns for law abiding citizens and have exempted themselves from the same laws and then they unleashed these animals on society. They have created a safe haven for criminals by creating a sanctuary state.
