Senator Ted Cruz: Eliminate US funding of the UN

From Senator Ted Cruz’s Facebook page:

Today’s United Nations vote is the culmination of this administration’s systemic agenda to weaken #Israel and strengthen its enemies.

Every Obama foreign policy official should be ashamed of today’s UN resolution, and any official who disagrees with or hopes to avoid the anti-Israel legacy of this Administration should resign on principle today.

I also emphatically second the call of my colleague Sen. Lindsey Graham that the consequences of this disgraceful UN resolution should be severe. I look forward to working with Sen. Graham, and with the incoming Administration of President-elect Trump, to significantly reduce or even eliminate U.S. funding of the United Nations, and also to seriously reconsider financial support for the nations that supported this resolution.

Brexit, Trump’s election victory, US withdrawal from the United Nations?

Is a new and better world in the making?

By the way…happy birthday Senator Cruz.

  1. IMHO, the proper way to market this sort of action is not “Defund”, but “privatize funding” of the UN. Let those who want to fund the UN do so with their own tax deductible donations, rather than forcing everyone to pay for the UN.

This will also put the UN on notice that it has to add in marketing it actions into what it does. If it does stuff that it’s donors don’t support, it’s likely to lose money as well as support…

It also means the UN might want to broaden its public relations reach beyond a small set of elite wonks in the State Department, a few Congressional elites and some media types. They need to sell their actions to the people of the US.

IMHO, a lot of what the UN is currently doing wouldn’t sell too well, clearly not enough to meet it’s expenses…

  2. I am so tired of the United Nations and their constant resolutions that blame Israel. Isreal does not start trouble with anyone. Isreal does take defensive action when it is attacked. Most of the nations backing the resolution against Isreal also does not like America. I see no good coming from funding an organization tghat is anti Isreal and anti American.

  3. Any official, elected or other, is a danger to the National Security of The Untied States and should be considered a threat to all free nations. Or what is left of them.

  4. It is way past time to confront this marxist infiltration. Its been 50 years since Joe McCarthy was shamed into silence, now look how far the termites have spread. Its time to get honest about who and what the United Nations is.

  5. Yes I’ve been saying that for a long time. De-fund them and let them setup house in Syria. And see what happens then.

  6. I have been saying for a long time that the UN relies on majority US funding to do its dirty work. The UN is the most partisan, anti-American force in the world and I see no reason to continue using American taxpayers’ money to support it. Let them move to Brussels and let those terror states pay for this den of vipers.

    1. The UN is part of the Global World Agenda and although we should work with other nations we do not need to relinquish our own Sovereign rights a as country. We are a separate and independent country. The UN original role was peacekeeping among nations. They have become a global ruling body and sometimes their “rulings” interfere with a country’s own governing body. The UN’s powers are far reaching and they need to be shut down/slapped down. JMO

  7. I agree wholeheartedly with Ted Cruz. I really feel and have felt for several years that the UN is no friend of the United States of America. Their representatives have ignored or used privileges to get by a lot of our laws. They seem to vote against the US more than with. Why should we fund them??? Let’s get out and handle our own affairs. Let someone else carry the load out of the US!! Stay with it Ted. I wish more in Congress had some of your values and love of our Constitution.

    1. The UN has LONG been an enemy of the United States. Our nation is CONSTANTLY kicked in the butt, by everyone (except Israel) and we not only TAKE IT, we PAY FOR IT!!

The first step is for the United States to ELIMINATE any and all financing of the UN and then, the second step is to serve an EVICTION notice to the Secretary General. Get the UN the hell, outa the US, once and for all!

Step Three: Raze the entire rat-infested UN site and bulldoze it into barges, then dump the crap over in the Arabian Gulf!
