Obama’s Middle Eastern Sleight of Hand

While the nation seemed to breathe a collective sigh of relief last week as a perceived agreement was reached by the US and Russia on Syria’s chemical weapons stockpiles, nothing really changed. In fact, if you look at the facts, we moved ever closer to war.

Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are still funding the Rebels in Syria… supplying them with money and arms to depose Assad. Obama is still locked in an elitist embrace with these oil merchants, reassuring them of his intentions when it comes to their pipelines and petro dollars, all the while pretending to make nice with Russia over Syria. He’s giving it the old diplomatic two-step with Putin leading and Obama not-so-light on his feet. But it is subterfuge theater. War game the events — don’t let what appears to be taking place fool you. Obama and Putin are using competing Trojan horses bearing wicked presents for the rest of us.

While our leaders in the House decided not to vote on Obama’s Syrian war (because it was just too embarrassing a defeat for the Marxist-in-Chief), the threat of war has not gone away. The claim of ‘no boots on the ground’ has turned to ‘well, maybe:’

The White House and the Pentagon have repeatedly ruled out “boots on the ground” in Syria, but Defense Department officials were less certain Thursday on whether U.S. military personnel might be sent to help secure or destroy Syria’s chemical weapons.

Pentagon Press Secretary George Little gave a vague answer when asked if U.S. troops were prepared to assist should an international agreement allow Russia to take control of the tons of chemical weapons believed to be in the stockpiles of President Bashar al-Assad.

“I’m not going to speculate on who may or may not be participating in a process that may or may not take place,” Little said. “We’ve got to see where the process goes” before the U.S. military considers involvement, he said.

Syria has tentatively agreed to the Russian initiative and also agreed to join the international ban on chemical and biological weapons.

Lavrov has urged the U.S. to speed the negotiations by dropping the threat to launch strikes on Syria, but Little said “the threat of military action is driving the process forward.”

To back up the threat, the U.S. was keeping four destroyers off the Syrian coast and the Nimitz carrier strike group in the Red Sea, though some of the ships may be replaced if the negotiations are drawn out, Little said.

“We have a mix of assets that would be available” to back up the threat, Little said. He wouldn’t comment on whether submarines were also in the Mediterranean to join with the surface ships in launching Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles. Little stressed that “we remain fully prepared to act” in the event that the talks with the Russians fail.

Any strike on Syria would also likely include B-52 bombers and possibly B-2 Spirit bombers firing cruise missiles from “stand-off” positions beyond the range of Syrian air defenses.

Syria is not helping either by poking the British badger:

Little declined comment on whether Hammond and Hagel discussed the possible use by the U.S. of the British airbase at Akrotiri on Cyprus, which is about 160 miles from the Syrian coast.

Last Sunday, the British Ministry of Defense confirmed that Typhoon interceptors had scrambled from Akrotiri to confront Syrian fighters that had flown into international air space near Cyrpus.

[…]

The Syrian planes were believed to have been two Russian-made Sukhoi Su-24 attack aircraft that were flying “low and fast,” the Daily Mail newspaper reported.

Before the stunning Aug. 30 vote by the British parliament against the use of force in Syria, Britain had sent six Typhoons to Akrotiri.

Nothing has changed — the disposal of chemical weapons is a ruse. They have already mostly been moved thanks to forewarning by Obama. I hear they are in over 50 different locations now. American boots are on shifting Syrian sand, that is about to become Middle Eastern quicksand.

The sleight of hand continues as the US keeps their battleships at the ready with all options on the table. Obama is now seemingly threatening Iran, telling them not to misinterpret Syria:

President Obama declared that the United States is still prepared to act militarily to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons despite the decision to pursue a diplomatic deal and not strike Syria over its alleged use of chemical weapons.

He also acknowledged that his approach to the Syria crisis has been uneven, but defended it as producing the right results.

Obama spoke in an interview broadcast Sunday on ABC’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos,” taped Friday before the United States and Russia agreed on a plan to bring Syrian chemical weapons under international control in order to avoid military strikes.

But Obama said Iran should not interpret the diplomatic response — coming after he threatened to use strikes — as suggesting that the United States wouldn’t attack Iran to stop the development of nuclear weapons.

“I think what the Iranians understand is that the nuclear issue is a far larger issue for us than the chemical weapons issue, that the threat . . . against Israel that a nuclear Iran poses is much closer to our core interests,” Obama said. “My suspicion is that the Iranians recognize they shouldn’t draw a lesson that we haven’t struck [Syria] to think we won’t strike Iran.”

Obama said, however, that what the Iranians should draw from this episode is that it is possible to resolve this type of disagreement diplomatically.

“My view is that if you have both a credible threat of force, combined with a rigorous diplomatic effort, that, in fact you can . . . strike a deal,” he said, confirming that he had communicated with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani by letter.

So, we watch the slide into WW III as diplomacy is feigned. Obama is poised to pull an FDR to reset economies. He has no choice after destroying the US economically. What’s more, labeling who is the enemy is becoming harder and harder to discern. Did it ever occur to people that all sides might want this war? That the same elite who are on “opposite” sides of the political aisle in America — and then have a beer and a round of golf together — are merely kissing cousins to the global elite? While Putin and Obama may wind up on opposite sides during a sham war, in reality, they work together, dine together, rule with an iron fist together. They don’t care about those that die… they care about money, power and geography.

In Obama’s war, very little would be accomplished in Syria. In fact, the way he is conducting his battle plans helps Assad by giving him time to shift and pontificate. Obama gets to look like a friend to al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood… Putin gets to be the BFF of Iran and Syria. A war would reset global economics and as an added bennie to both Obama and Putin, Israel stands a good chance of getting annihilated. Obama will pretend to act in Israel’s best interests, but in the end, will blame everything on the Jewish State. Out of fear and a longing for security, America hands over her freedoms more and more each day and with just the right emergency — poof! They are all gone and that pesky Constitution gets suspended. It is a global battle plan that has symmetry and deadly possibilities. An agenda that brings one world government and extinguishes the light of freedom once and for all. In Obama’s Middle Eastern sleight of hand, nothing is what it seems. The Russian Nomenklatura has bedded the American Leftists and both have a taste for the blood of the free.

    1. 1. Not a clue who it is riding with Putin. Looked like Obama at first, but too small. The picture was chosen for Putin and the horse – as in Trojan horse.

I don’t believe diplomacy will work at this juncture. I believe the cards are dealt and Russia and Obama have plans that are not viewable by the rest of us and can only be guessed at. There is something very disturbing transpiring between Obama and Putin – I don’t like it all. All I know is it means war, death and very hard times for Americans and most of the world.

    1. Dear Terresa,
the situation is not that bad most people suggest – it’s somewhat worse. The question remains how the world – after such big troubles had seemed being over (“end of history”, eh?..) has still got into it?..
My humble opinion is the threats of today are HARDER than the well-transparent tank armies rusting just outside Europe.
What I’m most curious about: the intensive activities behind the scene – what paradigm is actually being played out? Is it about a DEAL – that we may approach to another Munich-38 version, etc. Or is it something different? Even “those over there”, so much preoccupied with all the daily businesses, must still have some sense of history lessons…
      Let’s pray.

  2. Who … the… the person co-riding with Putin is supposed to be, if I may ask? Is that person mentioned in the article?..
Otherwise I agree that the situation is extremely complex and risky with Syria being just a fragment. To be sure, the WMD in Syria and Iran pose a huge security problem to both US and allies. A strike as such could make all things terribly worse. Probably a multifaceted diplomacy might help?..
