Disinformation Story Against Israel?

Disinformation is the trick  of spreading plausible, but basically false or twisted stories, in order to confuse or misdirect an enemy or target audience.

The Soviet Union/Russia is the world leader in this black art.

The best way to identify disinformation is to track the original source of the report and look at who stands to gain by it.

Right now Moscow and her Islamic allies are trying to drive a deep wedge between the American public and Israel. The objective is to isolate Israel to the point that when an attack comes, no one will intervene on Israel’s behalf.

The “dirty conniving war-mongering Israelis”  will have gotten what they deserved.

This report from the Jerusalem Post should be seen in this light. Note that it originates from the well-known communist/socialist radio station KPFK.

That even the JPost was probably sucked in, should be major cause for concern.

Israel will probably attack Iran in September, a former CIA officer who spent 21 years in the Middle East, including in Lebanon and Syria, has told a Los Angeles radio show.

While Robert Baer didn’t reveal the sources behind his prediction, he referred to former Mossad chief Meir Dagan’s warnings of an Israeli attack on Iran as “no bluff.”

Baer told the KPFK Radio on Tuesday recent comments made by Dagan that an Israeli attack on Iran could lead to a regional war, “tell us with near certainty that [Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu is planning an attack, and in as much as I can guess when it’s going to be, it’s probably going to be in September, before a [UN General Assembly] vote on the Palestinian state.” Netanyahu is “also hoping to draw the United States into the conflict – and in fact, there’s a warning order inside the Pentagon to prepare for conflict with Iran,” Baer said.

The retired senior CIA officer predicted that Israel would attack the Natanz nuclear facility, as well as “a couple of others to degrade their capabilities.” “The Iranians will strike back where they can, and that will be in Basra and in Baghdad,” where the US has a reduced troop presence, Baer said. “We’ve started to look at Iran’s targets in Iraq and across the border,” he said. Baer, however, said a regional war was unlikely. “What we’re facing here is an escalation, not a planned all-out war,” he said.

There was no response from the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem.

This is probably an  example of disinformation.

It is a plausible (unsourced ) story that puts Israel in a no-win situation. If Israel denies, it just adds credibility. If Israel ignores it, “well what have they got to hide?”

Look a the source, people. Look at who has to what to gain.

Don’t believe a damn thing you read, hear or view (including on this blog) until you carry out those two steps.

  1. Yes Yes Yes, thank you so much for saying that readers shouldn’t believe what they read until they check the source. It’s also good to find a confirmation on a fact from an unrelated source. There are so many lies out there about Israel. Israel is not perfect, but I think we try really hard to be peaceful, and I know that if the Arabs stopped attacking us and got down to the real business of making lives for themselves, we’d have peace. we are just forced to have a strong military as a deterrent against all the threats.

    1. Trevor Loudon was fired from the CIA after he was found raping the corpse of a dead 6 year old boy in Iraq in 2006.

The head of the CIA, Leon Panetta describes Loudon as an out of control psychotic. According to Panetta Trevor Loudon was involved in murdering young boys in 17 different countries. In each case he sodomized the young children and then cut off their penis and dried them for a necklace he wore during each murder.
      Is this disinformation???

  2. Indeed Russia wants to destroy Israel as well as the USA; and their one motivation is the same as always — control of resources and the ideology over their given enemies. We believe in the rights and freedom for the individual and the small government; the Russians socialistic progressive marxist means is government of the collective by an elitist group of a handful of despots.
