Elections? Nah!

From Big Government

Speaking to a Cary rotary club today, N.C. Democratic Gov. Bev Perdue suggested suspending Congressional elections for two years so that Congress can focus on economic recovery and not the next election.

“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that,” Perdue said. “You want people who don’t worry about the next election.”

The comment — which came during a discussion of the economy — perked more than a few ears. It’s unclear whether Perdue, a Democrat, is serious — but her tone was level and she asked others to support her on the idea.

“You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things. I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that. The one good thing about Raleigh is that for so many years we worked across party lines. It’s a little bit more contentious now but it’s not impossible to try to do what’s right in this state. You want people who don’t worry about the next election.”

Great logic Bev. Josef Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini didn’t have to worry about elections either. Look at the great things they achieved for their countries!

  1. Suspending elections sounds a banana republic to me. That’s what is done there. The Libtards are and have been slowing dismantling this nation for 100 years starting with Pres. Woodrow Wilson in the teens.

  2. Another pitiful low life Demonrat rambling thoughts in realistic fear that she too will have her arse rightfully tossed into the streets come election 2012.
What a relief it will be to have the 2012 elections behind us and scum bags like Purdue out of office, but the clean-up of all their damage will take serious focus and decades to recover from.

  3. I heard this earlier today on the radio and couldn’t believe my dumb@$$ governor could make me even more dumbfounded….

History of our system shows when left alone it will recover and prosper quickly. But when govt constantly regulates, funds, bails out the producers, it turns the producers into beggars, moochers, or just plain scared to move and our system becomes stagnant and/or has large periods of regression.

How about instead of suspending elections, we just suspend the Executive and Legislative branches of the Federal govt for 2 years?

  4. And we North Carolinians thought Mike Easley was bad (he was)! Bev thought she would have it made with another all Democrat Congress to help push her agenda through, much to her surprise we now have a Republican Congress for the first time since about the civil war in this state. I could never figure out why so many in my parents and grandparents generations would go vote and pull a straight Democrat ticket……just because they were Dems.

  5. I am a NC resident and let me just say that this is typical Bev Perdue logic. The ONLY reason why she was elected governor in 2008 was because of mere ignorance. She is the most corrupt politician EVER in the state of NC. Just Google “Bev Perdue corruption” and see what all you find. You will be absolutely shocked that she is not sitting in a prison cell. It is so embarrassing to think that she represents this state.

  6. Exactly right nano.

If they want to see the shit hit the fan in a big way, just go ahead an try and pull that stunt.

The American people are FED UP with these marxist wannbe dictators. We can’t wait to vote these bastards out of office.

  7. This is simply to keep the small control they have in the Senate and the numbers in the house because of the big train coming down the tunnel in 2012.
