Liars Incorporated and the Fake News Media

By: Cliff Kincaid

When a relative of Donald Trump denounced him, the media were gleeful and full of endless coverage. But when Amy Acton’s mother denounced the Ohio Gubernatorial Democrat candidate as a pathological liar, the mother came under attack as “estranged” and somehow connected to the alleged abuse of her daughter when she was young.

RINOs and the media took the side of the Democrat, denouncing Amy Acton’s opponent, Vivek Ramaswamy, as disgusting for sponsoring the ad.

Count this case as another example of how the fake news operates. Republicans are targets. Democrats must be protected, even when a mother sounds the alarm.

Meanwhile, as we can also see in the Ilhan Omar case, the truth about one’s family can become a political issue, and cover-ups can be conducted. Barack Hussein Obama, whose father’s identity is still a matter of dispute, says the Trump Administration “is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen.”

As Jack Cashill notes, the case actually involves allegations of bigamy and immigration fraud. If Omar is deported, can Obama be far behind? Perhaps the truth about his birth certificate will finally come out.

All we know for sure is that Amy Acton’s mother followed the daughter’s political career and is not impressed. Her mother, Donna Arthur, said about her daughter:

  • “She is a liar. She lies about her past.”
  • “She says she grew up living in a tent. None of that is true.”
  • “Don’t vote for people who lie. Don’t let her become your governor.”
  • “If you think she’ll make your life better, you’re fooling yourself. It will only get worse.”

Contrast the trashing of Donna Arthur, Amy Acton’s mother, with the praise of Mary Trump, a lesbian disgusted with Republican politics and the daughter of Donald Trump’s late older brother, Fred Trump Jr.  She became a celebrity and wrote the best-selling “tell-all” books, Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man (2020) and The Reckoning: Our Nation’s Trauma and Finding a Way to Heal (2021).

For Vivek Ramaswamy in the Ohio race, the matter is personal. He frequently emphasizes the central role of family and traditional family structures in his personal life and political platform. He emphasizes the importance of two-parent homes and speaks about his upbringing by Indian immigrant parents in Ohio. He has publicly described growing up in a two-parent household as his “ultimate privilege,” framing family stability as a foundational key to success.

In this context, he emphasizes the role of the nuclear family and states, “The nuclear family is the greatest form of governance known to mankind.”

You can’t find the truth about Amy Acton’s family problems, which go back decades, in the media. All you get are various claims and accusations. There are references to “state authorities” and “court records,” but nothing has been proven. Since studies show that child abuse allegations arise in roughly 2% to 10% of all custody and visitation cases, it’s difficult at this late date to know the ultimate truth.

All we know is that the mother obviously didn’t believe what the state was claiming, disputed the claims, but allegedly lost custody of Acton and her brother as a result.  It’s unclear what really happened.

For her part, Amy Acton has seized on the unverified claims as somehow relevant to her political career and run for Ohio governor. She said that she was removed from her mother’s care as a child and that her stepfather was charged with sexual abuse in 1978. Of course, as we have seen, custody battles can feature such allegations. She says she lived in temporary shelters, including a tent, and this motivated her to pursue medicine so she could help others. That’s her story, and she is sticking to it.

She talks about her childhood often. But is the story true? Her mother’s views are certainly relevant.

Asked about the ad, Trump referenced his own mother and said, “If my mother, the legendary Mary MacLeod Trump, said anything bad about me, the Fake News would play it up.” In related remarks, he said, “If my mother said that about me, it would be, you [the media and the Democrats] would have hit gold. You would have been very happy about it.”

The media took Amy Acton’s side because they want the Democrats to win in Ohio. They took Mary Trump’s side because they hate Trump’s Republican politics.

But because the fake news media hate Trump, they are trying to make an issue out of Ramaswamy’s “deeply personal” ad against Acton featuring her “estranged mother.”

Acton made her background into a major issue, and now her supporters resent her own mother talking about the facts, as she sees them. She has every right to weigh in on the family situation, and it has become political because Amy Acton has featured her background in her run for office.

The media failed to probe her claims. That means that a response by her opponent, Ramaswamy is warranted. What better authority than Acton’s own mother? If we believe her, she loves her daughter but won’t excuse her lies.

But the fake news never apologizes for failing to do their job and now digs into the mother’s background by attacking Acton’s mother for allegations of “animal cruelty,” leaving cats in a hot car years ago, and charges of “fraud.”

But the biggest fraud, according to the mother, is Amy Acton.

As President Trump knows from experience, one’s personal life is not off-limits.

The media are protecting Amy Acton and Ilhan Omar because they know Obama’s background is ripe for a long-overdue examination. Obama had a close relationship with Communist Party USA (CPUSA) member Frank Marshall Davis in Hawaii, who was not only a communist but a pornographer who wrote a semi-biographical novel about having sex with a 13-year-old girl. He mentored Obama for as many as nine years of his young life in Hawaii and may, in fact, have been his real father.

When I interviewed Jack Cashill about his book, Unmasking Obama: The Fight to Tell the True Story of a Failed Presidency, it was deleted by YouTube and, eventually, my entire channel of 500 anti-communist videos was taken down.

The media can’t handle the truth and will not seek it. Keep that in mind in the Amy Acton saga and the Ilhan Omar and Barack Hussein Obama cases.
