Chances are you have heard of the infanticide bill in Massachusetts signed by lesbian “Catholic” Governor Maura Healey. Chances are you have not heard of the Catholics who made it into law and have failed to protest it.
This story is emblematic of the corruption problem in the American branch of the Roman Catholic Church today. It has no credibility on moral issues, since so many of its hierarchy have either engaged in -– or covered-up -– sexual abuse of children. Meanwhile, it depends on the state for sustenance, in regard to its schools and various charities, such as those protecting illegal aliens.
First, some history: there was a time when Massachusetts was a shining American colony. It had five delegates to the Second Continental Congress , which adopted the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. It was settled by Puritans seeking a Bible-based society.
Today, Massachusetts has a lesbian governor who claims to be a Roman Catholic and provides tax dollars to Catholic institutions.
The law was H.5595, “An Act Prioritizing Patient Access to Care,” removing the last remaining restrictions on late-term abortion in the state.
A baby has a heartbeat at 5 weeks and feels pain after 15 weeks.
Those applauding the bill’s signing into law were from the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund, Reproductive Equity Now, and the American Civil Liberties Union.
“This sends a chill up my spine,” said Franklin Graham. “Smiles and applause while the Democratic Massachusetts governor signs a bill to allow abortions up to birth in her state. This is murder. It’s evil.”
Graham, a Protestant, failed to note the legislation’s Catholic nature.
Yes, the Catholic Church is implicated in the passage of this murderous bill.
The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts has photos to prove the following points:
- Maura Healey being welcomed by her friend Catholic Cardinal Seán Patrick O’Malley at the Catholic Charities Spring Celebration in Boston in May of 2024.
- Maura Healey with her “new friend,” Pope Francis, in the Vatican, in May of 2024.
- Maura Healey discussing “reproductive rights” with her friends at Catholic Saint John’s Prep in Danvers.
- Maura Healey with her friends from Cathedral Catholic High School in Boston.
Catholic Action League Executive Director C. J. Doyle notes “the fact that a majority of Catholics in the Massachusetts Legislature voted for this abominable measure tells all we need to know about the radically dysfunctional character of post-conciliar Catholicism.” He added, “The pro-life movement counts the Catholic Church as its ally in defending the unborn, but the reality is that the Catholic Church, in Massachusetts at least, is not serious about abortion.”
Doyle notes that Maura Healey has other friends which some pro-life Catholics—like the ones now calling for her excommunication—might not be aware of, and lists the people in the photos cited earlier.
What explains this apparent anomaly?
The almighty dollar. A deal with the devil.
The Catholic Action League notes that Healey provides state social service funds for Catholic Charities; state housing funds for the Archdiocesan Planning Office for Urban Affairs; and, of course, major donor contributions for the Catholic Schools Foundation, “which is always helped when the Governor is sitting at the head table at their annual fundraiser.”
In other words, the Catholic hierarchy in Massachusetts has sacrificed the bodies of aborted babies for money.
By the way, O’Malley presided at the funeral Mass for Senator Edward M. Kennedy, the liberal Catholic who undermined church teachings on social matters such as abortion and homosexuality and lived a personal life characterized by debauchery.
For those who are new to this information, I suggest several reports we have published over the years:
- How Marxism Has Infiltrated the Catholic Church by Robert Chandler, author of Shadow World.
- Powers of Darkness: The Catholic Church Scandals and Cover-Ups.
- The Religious Face of the New World Order by Lee Penn.
- Bitter Harvest: How Marxist “Progressives” Have Infiltrated the American Catholic Church by William Mayer.
Once considered an anti-communist church, it is now a virtual adjunct of the world communist movement, whose pope, Leo, shows deference to global Islam.
Fr. J Bryan Hehir, the Boston archdiocese’s secretary of health and social services, is as well-known, perhaps more so, than the “American” pope. As the moderator of the Massachusetts Catholic Conference, he sent a “carefully reasoned letter” to the Legislature on July 23rd on the abortion bill, which was never released to the media. A copy has been obtained and posted.
This “carefully reasoned” but muted opposition to the measure added:
“The Catholic Church in Massachusetts, in accord with centuries of Catholic teaching, has opposed the moral evil of directly intending the taking of innocent human life. It has also tried to bring civil law into accord with this moral teaching. The broader range of Catholic teaching sustains the protection of innocent and defenseless human life against direct attack from conception until natural death.”
That’s the teaching of the church. But he said nothing about Catholic institutions giving awards, honors, and platforms to elected officials who reject Catholic morality, evidence which has been noted by Catholic Action League Executive Director C. J. Doyle.
Hence, the Hehir letter was lip service to the survival of unborn babies and nothing more.
Less well-known is the fact that Fr. J. Bryan Hehir is so radical that a “Bryan Hehir Exposed” blog was launched to expose his left-wing activities that included lecturing for “a Socialist, pro-Communist think-tank back in the 1980’s,” the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), where Hehir taught his course on “Matthew, Marx, Luke, and John.”
Hehir was then the director of the Office of International Justice and Peace of the U.S. Catholic Conference and posed as an expert on nuclear weapons. He was a professor at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a member of a Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) task force that produced a 2009 report on “U.S. Nuclear Weapons Policy.”
Hehir was known as a critic of U.S. foreign policy in the 1980s, when President Ronald Reagan was preventing a Communist takeover of Central America and countering the Soviet Union’s nuclear buildup by deploying U.S. nuclear missiles in Western Europe. The IPS was then the center of much of the opposition to the Reagan agenda.
It turns out that Leo, then a seminary student in Rome, protested Reagan’s anti-communist foreign policy.
In a set of videos from 2013, I exposed J. Bryan Hehir explaining the Vatican’s embrace of a “world political authority” with “real teeth.” You can watch video one here and video two here. The church favors world government.
The Catholic advocacy group Catholic Vote is calling for Healey to be excommunicated by Massachusetts bishops. That’s not likely. But much more is needed. Conservative Catholics need to take back their church from the Marxists in Boston, the United States, and worldwide.
Whether they do so or not may well determine the fate of the United States and the world.
