  1. What is so sad is that these left wing socialists who claim to be “Catholic” have tried to rewrite Catholic doctrine to fit their own agenda. It is shocking and sad that they are supposed to be leaders in our faith but they don’t know the first thing about their faith. They talk about moral imperatives, and quote papal encyclicals but they FORGET to mention that EVERY SINGLE ENCYCLICAL THAT THEY QUOTE FROM CLEARLY denounces both communism and socialism. The whole doctrine of common good is twisted to support socialism while denying basic moral directives and principles of freedom and the basic rights of the individual. They forget that the foundation of Catholic social doctrine is based on the principle of subsidiarity. See:

“This is why Pope John Paul II took the “social assistance state” to task in his 1991 encyclical Centesimus Annus. The Pontiff wrote that the Welfare State was contradicting the principle of subsidiarity by intervening directly and depriving society of its responsibility. This “leads to a loss of human energies and an inordinate increase of public agencies which are dominated more by bureaucratic ways of thinking than by concern for serving their clients and which are accompanied by an enormous increase in spending.”

What these “liberals” are promoting is “soft despotism” and Antonio Gramsci’s marxism which is completely against Catholic doctrine. They forget that with Marxism socialism there is no place for God. They have themselves become victims of Gramsci’s theory of cultural hegemony.

For anyone wishing to learn true Catholic doctrine as it relates to Marxism, social teaching and freedom I encourage you to check out the Acton Institute web site. They offer a goldmine of information.

And to Boehner…thank you for having the courage to lead in a truly Catholic way according to true Catholic principles.

  2. I was raised a catholic. I remember arguing with a catholic ba-al priest over his similar marxist viewpoints. I asked him to his face: “are you, a man of the cloth, going to sit there and tell me it is ok to violate the Commandments of God prohibiting the coveting and stealing (redistribution) of our neighbor’s goods (i.e.,-“socialism”)? He answered: “yes”. ‘Nuff said.

I am no longer a catholic. I refuse to abide by the doctrines of men that violate the laws of God and make them of no effect. Christ called these people “hypocrites”. Christianity encourages charity, but voluntary charity.

    1. Amen to that!!! Our governmental “leaders”, who are SUPPOSED to be our REPRESENTATIVES, have bastardized our religions, our Constitution, our values, our beliefs, our ways of life, our convictions, and our non-hyphenated culture to serve their political aspirations and it’s time to nullify this treasonous behavior. They are selling out the citizen for the non-citizen to obtain a voter base. That is treasonous.

It is not for the government to create jobs, or redistribute wealth, or take care of the poor and/or lazy. That is for the community to do if they so choose.

  3. No doubt that Boehner is not the sharpest tack in the box, but to call him “anti-life” because of his budget cut proposals is just absolutely nuts.

Betcha the 79 professors complaining about this are all liberals!
