he “N’COBRA 15th Annual Conference 2004” brochure to be held at Howard University in Washington, D.C. on June 17-20, 2004 has “Partial Confirmed List” of participants which included Dr. Iva Carruthers (President, Orita Circle/Trinity United Church of Christ Chicago), Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich); marxist Ron Daniels, Executive Director, the Center for Constitutional Rights (a creation of the Communist Party and its legal front, the National Lawyers Guild); William Fletcher, President, Transafrica Forum, another maoist-oriented marxist and cofounder of Progressives for Obama; race-baiter prof. Leonard Jeffries; Dr. Maulana Karenga (Chair, the Organization US and the creator of Kwanzaa: US was involved in several killings in California in the 60’s which featured infighting among black extremists there); Ms. Cynthia McKinney (Candidate, for US Congress and later a several term Democrat Representative from Georgia, a well-known America-hater and anti-semite, who is now the Green Party’s 2008 presidential candidate); Ms. Jamala Rogers, Black Radical Congress National Organizer (a marxist dominated organization); the late Damu Smith (Founder and CoChair of the phone booth operation known as Black Voices for Peace – Smith’s record of supporting communist causes went back to the late 1960’s); and Dr. Conrad Worrill, NBUF, who also has a long record of affiliation with black extremist movements and organizations.

The results of this conference were not found at the NCOBRA website.

One person of importance for us to look at is N’COBRA “At Large” Board of Directors member Herman Benjamin Ferguson, from Queens, N.Y. who title was listed in the Oct. 25, 2003 edition of “BRT.” His record of participating in, and advocating violence or support for those who do, is well documented in congressional hearings and the newspapers from New York City and Philadelphia, as well as on the internet.

On June 21, 1967, while working as an Assistant School Principal at Public School 40 in Jamaica, New York City, the 46 year-old Ferguson was, along with 15 other members of the Maoist-led Revolutionary Armed Movement (RAM), arrested for plotting the assassination of civil rights leaders Whitney Young (National Urban League) and Roy Wilkins (NAACP). He was eventually convicted and sentenced to 7 years in jail, but fled the country, spending 14 years as a fugitive in both marxist Ghana and Guyana, before returning to the US on April 6, 1989. He was then jailed for the assassination plot, serving up to 7 years in prison before he was released.

More RAM members were arrested around the country for plotting various acts of violence and mass murder, with 35 being rounded up in Philadelphia and another 23 in Chicago, during the latter half of the year, and various types of weapons being seized.

One short article on Ferguson was written in the New York Times, April 8, 1989, by Joseph P. Fried, entitled “60’s Fugitive Returns to Start Conspiracy Sentence.” [Besides being an interesting piece, I mention it here because the last time I saw Fried was while he was pounding away on an old typewriter in JUSPAO II(Joint US Public Affairs Office) in downtown Saigon and yelling at the Vietnamese women who were chattering away while they cleaned the hallway].

However, jail and age did not stop this professional black extremist from going back to his old ways and during the new century, Ferguson kept busy supporting extremists and their causes, including the following sampling taken from the internet.

A “Call for a National Day of Protest on October 22, 2002, to Stop Police Brutality” around the US found “Iyalmus and Herman Ferguson, N.A.L.F” as one of its endorsers along with a lot of other communists and extremists.

Then, so as not to break his streak of endorsements, Ferguson showed up as a speaker on December 10, 2005, in New York City, at a “Stop The Execution of Stan Tookie Williams”, the California gang leader who killed three people in cold blood. Sponsored by the “New York City Save Stan Tookie Williams” group, a chilling group of black and white extremists including “Fred Hampton, Jr. (son of slain Chicago Black Panther leader Fred Hampton); Pam Africa, International Concerned Family and Friends of Mumia Abu-Jamal, the convicted cop killer; Herman Ferguson, co-chair, National Jericho Movement (his latest home); Lynne Stewart, “to be sentenced in December by the U.S. government (i.e. for her violation of legal ethics in smuggling messages from World Trade Center I bomb plot leader blind Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman out of jail to his terrorist followers – she is an avowed supporter of marxist and Moslem terrorist groups and causes; Masa Ehehosi, Free Imam Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin (Rap Brown) Campaign (sentenced to life for killing a deputy sheriff); and others.

Finally, on Oct. 12, 2006, Ferguson was among a group of leftist, black extremist and some Puerto Rican activists at the “Rally and Tribute in Harlem in Support of Lynne Stewart: A Tribute to her Legal Career and Political Life” on the eve of her sentencing. Endorsements for this rally came from such leftist groups as the Harlem Tenants Council, Harlem Fightback, Patrice Lumumba Coalition, National Conference of Black Lawyers (NCBL), San Romero de la Americans Church, Jericho Movement, December 12th Movement, Troops Out Now, Bolivarian Circle, etc.

The National Jericho Movement self-describes itself as follows:

“The Jericho Movement grew out of a call for a national march on the White House during Spring Break of 1998 by political prisoner Jalil Muntaqim. The call was made in October of 1996 through the Provisional Government – Republic of New Afrika and the New Afrikan Liberation Front, but the organizers decided to use this opportunity to jumpstart a much needed movement to build a national support organization for political prisoners in general.”

Least we forget, Ferguson was listed as an “At-Large Board of Directors” member of N’COBRA in the Oct. 25, 2003 issue of “Black Reparations Times”, the same N’COBRA in which Rev. Wright and two of his church’s activists, Dr. Ida Carruthers and DeBorah White, were very active in regarding the fight for black reparations. Therefore, his far-left history was known to Rev. Wright for a long time since he was a “legend” in the black extremist movement and shows up in many of their own writings on this subject.
