US Communists Organise March on Pentagon

A while ago I posted on the of the giant anti Iraq War rally in Washington on 27th january.

Now another major communist organisation, the and its front “Act Now to Stop War & End Racism” (ANSWER) are planning a march on the Pentagon.

On March 17, 2007, the 4th anniversary of the start of the criminal invasion of Iraq, tens of thousands of people from around the country will descend on the Pentagon in a mass demonstration to demand: U.S. Out of Iraq Now! 2007 is the 40th anniversary of the historic 1967 anti-war march to the Pentagon during the Vietnam War. The message of the 1967 march was “From Protest to Resistance”, and marked a turning point in the development of a countrywide mass movement.

In the coming days and weeks, thousands of organizations and individuals will begin mobilizing for the upcoming March on the Pentagon. Organizing committees and transportation centers are being established to bring people to the March on the Pentagon.

The March 17 demonstration will assemble at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (Constitution Gardens) at 12 noon in Washington, D.C.and march to the Pentagon.

Tne Party for Socialism and Liberty split from the Workers Wold Party in 2004 and took over the leadership of ANSWER from WWP. Many of ANSWER’s leaders were members of the WWP at the time of ANSWER’s founding and are now members of the PSL

According to

Unlike the Workers World Party, which never maintained a formal position in the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition despite its clear influence, the PSL’s role within A.N.S.W.E.R. is overt. As one the most active members of the coalition, PSL has gained notice for successfully forging ties with Arab and Muslim American groups such as the Muslim American Society, Al-Awda and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.

  1. Why would they protest in the town they love so much?

Actually, it might not ba such a bad idea to ship them all over to either Moscow or Havanah, Cuba. After all, that’s where they all belong anyway.
