Duck Dynasty family reveal sordid past of drugs, booze and infidelity

Watched by almost twelve million people each week the family of ‘Duck Dynasty’ have become emblems of the reality TV era. Famed for their duck hunting abilities the Robertsons are also renowned for their Christian family values – but it wasn’t always so wholesome for the Louisiana brood. A new short film reveals a sinful past of drugs, alcohol and infidelity from the stars of the blockbuster A&E show. “You can only run the old sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll so far,” Phil Robinson, 67, confesses in the film, which is made by the religious advocacy group I Am Second. “It’s only when you meet Jesus and you look back at where you were, that you up saying things like, ‘what was I thinking?” Adds the heavily bearded hunter/businessman. The 30-minute recording features Phil, Kay, Jep and Reed Robertson opening up about their alcoholism, drug use, run-ins with the law and suicidal thoughts.
