Diablo Valley College Professor Eric Clanton received three years probation after being charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon during a rally in Berkeley on April 15, 2017. According to police documents, Clanton was accused of hitting seven different people on the head with his bike lock.

Eric Clanton is a hard-left anarchist. He was literally a speaker at the so-called “1st Annual Anarchism, Crime, and Justice Conference” in March 2016 held at Fort Lewis College (FLC) in Durango, Colorado. Eric Clanton’s Lecture was “Restorative Justice: Between Radical Alternative and Reformist Strategy.”

Eric Clanton’s Lecture was “Restorative Justice: Between Radical Alternative and Reformist Strategy.”

After being outed by internet sleuths, Clanton claimed that he was “targeted by a dedicated swarm of internet trolls known for spewing racism, xenophobia, and misogyny onto the web.” He additionally claimed to have been the recipient of “death threats,” the standard go-to and always-unconfirmed complaint designed to deflect.

Further, he writes:

“My case threatens to set a new standard in which right-wing extremists can select targets for repression and have police enthusiastically and forcefully pursue them. “

The sentence is shockingly insulting to Clanton’s victims and only encourages more violence, particularly when it is political violence aimed at people who dare to have a non-communist perspective.

From Berkeleyside:

A former East Bay college philosophy professor who was charged with four counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon, causing great bodily injury, has taken a deal resulting in three years of probation for an attack at a Berkeley protest last year, court records reveal.

Eric Clanton had been linked by police to violent assaults with a metal bike lock during a “free speech” rally in Berkeley on April 15, 2017. Before his arrest, Clanton had been “outed” online, on the website 4chan, as someone who used a bike lock to strike a man in the head. The assault was captured in a video clip (below) that drew widespread attention and anger after it was posted on YouTube.

Wednesday, Clanton was supposed to have had his preliminary hearing, where a judge decides whether there’s enough evidence in a case for it to move ahead to trial. Instead, there was no hearing, and information about Clanton’s plea deal became available online.

According to Alameda County Superior Court records, Clanton entered a “no contest” plea Wednesday to one misdemeanor battery charge. The felony charges against him were dismissed, and an allegation that he had caused serious bodily injury was stricken. A misdemeanor charge that Clanton wore a mask during the commission of the crime also was dropped.

Clanton’s three years of probation begin Wednesday and last through Aug. 8, 2021.

Police said, previously, that Clanton attacked at least three people with a metal U-lock during the April 15 rally in and around Civic Center Park. Court papers later revealed that Clanton struck at least seven people in the head, according to authorities. One person received a head laceration that required five staples to fix. Another was uninjured but had a piece of a helmet broken off. A third was struck across the neck and back, police wrote.

Eric Clanton went to that rally with intent to hurt people, and he did. He pleaded not guilty, and he showed no remorse. Three years probation is a disgrace.

  1. When government supports the mob it’s time to take our own ‘action’.
Rand Paul was nearly beaten to death by a leftist and he got thirty days.
This clown beat seven people with a deadly weapon and gets probation.
Leftist mobs intimidate and beat people in Portland, San Jose and Berkeley and the mayors tells the cops to stand down.
    When do patriots step up?

    1. You know what I don’t get about Rand Paul? I was just thinking about this yesterday. He has signed onto this whole “emptying the prisons” trend (that is a movement funded by the Koch brothers) when he has seen with his own two eyes how dangerous these people are. As to your point – and agreeing with what Steve Deace says in Trevor’s Antifa movie, Americans are hungry for law and order and President Trump ran as a “law and order” president. We are about ready for some law and order.

    2. Patriots will step up when they can muster the courage to be beaten half to death or killed by their own police force. Who will on orders watch antifa kill someone, while beating down someone who is just defending themselves.

Or once they see antifa commit a crime so heinous they must act regardless of their personal safety.

The government has been very good in turning us into a nation of sheep. But we will learn fast. And it will stun them.

  2. Great article. Great video. I do as much as I can in sharing this material. What a shame this professor is on probation instead of jail. And like the video explains, they know it. They KNOW they’re not going to be in any serious amount of trouble. Antifa is allowed to pretty much roam free to do what they want. So sad.
