What a 1917 school lesson can teach America

"I give my head my heart and my life to my God and one nation indivisible with justice for all." - Uncovered classroom chalkboard from 1917

“Let the American youth never forget, that they possess a noble inheritance, bought by the toils, and sufferings, and blood of their ancestors; and capacity, if wisely improved, and faithfully guarded, of transmitting to their latest posterity all the substantial blessings of life, the peaceful enjoyment of liberty, property, religion, and independence.” – Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution, 1833

Contractors at a high school in Oklahoma got more than they bargained for when they unearthed lessons on a chalkboard dating back to 1917.

The lessons are a poignant reminder of a bygone era, before anti-American activists sought to remove all semblance of God, a love for America, and accurate history from schools. Over time, Americans – perhaps weary of the radical left or ignorant of their own rights – have let down their guard and sadly allowed this usurpation to take place.

In the last 100 years, a deliberate and sustained indoctrination effort has been successfully made by card-carrying communists such as Howard Zinn, likely communist members such as Curtis D. MacDougall, or prominent Ku Klux Klan members and their allies such as FDR-appointed Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black to name a few.

Consider these quotes:

“No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and Virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.” – Samuel Adams, letter to James Warren, November 4, 1775

“Nothing is more certain than that a general profligacy and corruption of manners make a people ripe for destruction. A good form of government may hold the rotten materials together for some time, but beyond a certain pitch, even the best constitution will be ineffectual, and slavery must ensue.” – John Witherspoon, The Dominion of Providence Over the Passions of Men, 1776

  1. You can add Eric Foner’s name to Zinn’s – followed by Victor Navasky’s “Naming Names” as a defense of Hollywood’s commie/radicals of past and current varieties. Currently Hollywood-dominated Advertising Media is engaged in social engineering for social justice continuously on your television screen as well as previews and movies in theaters.

  2. One thing we can learn is that the children were uneducated considering that the 25th of December in 1917 fell on a Tuesday….

  3. With gradual patience, our nation has been/is being taken over with Marxist ideas, ideas used as weapons against our free nation. I have exposed many of these ideas in my book: TOO HIGH A PRICE FOR HARMONY: A PERSPECTIVE ON SCHOOL SHOOTINGS, Diane DeMiro. (I am not trying to sell my book as I am being ripped off for my royalties from Author House.) Some of these ideas are very subtle and can be summed up in two words: DIALECTIC MATERIALISM/HEGELIAN DIALECT, which takes THESIS and presents an ANTI-THESIS expecting a CLASH so that a COMMON GROUND can be established and then repeats the process . The Final Stages are ANARCHY….to the END of which is GLOBAL TOTALITARIANISM.
I have been in the field of education for 52 years.
Some of the ideas are: “Dialoging to Consensus,” giving up a POSITION for the sake of HARMONY in RELATIONSHIPS. If you have a POSITION, you are considered a “racist”, “bigot”, “terrorist” even. We imported the argument of the Marxists against the fascists. Facts are considered fascist. It is amazing to me how the Left which is stuck in the Dialectic opposes the Right CATEGORICALLY. One can be confronted with mountains of evidence of scandal. lies and yet with Orwellian loyalty, the Left opposes the Right, who may vote a socialist, or a criminal into office.
What to do about it.1. Ask questions of potential candidates like , “What would you do about the media’s failure to report real news.” “What would you do about the failings of our justice system to prosecute law breakers?” So many laws are being broken. For instance, it is a felony to assist an illegal. It is a felony to use federal funds for abortion. It is against the Hatch Amendment to quiz students on their attitudes and psychological demeanor. This is just to name a few.
Also, I would do everything possible to dispel the myths about the Republicans: that…They are corporate greed mongers, for example. 1. We have the highest corporate tax in the world and THAT forces companies to outsource.2. Bill Clinton , a Democrat signed the bill which made “Derivatives” possible and bankrupted millions while BANKERS collected millions on the misfortune of folks and countries that were not warned about their RISKS. Yes, Bill Clinton is a DEMOCRAT!!3. Clinton Foundation as cited by Clinton Cash (What’s the deal on that as I have seen posts that debunk that entire document)
Also, I would get people who represent the segments of “groups” that are victims of the Dialectic to speak out about how Pres. Obama has done nothing for the Blacks in fact everything he has done has been counter-productive for Blacks. I would have Hispanics speak about how the current admin. is against family values. Have someone who has been screwed by Obamacare speak out, someone who lost their job to an illegal speak out so on and so on and adopt the slogan: “END THE WAR ON US CITIZENS!”

  4. The Education of the “Whole” person. But that was before the Government got mixed up in our schools. It always should have been up to the state and the local school boards… nevertheless, the ACLU started mixing it up and the Government became involved through the Civil Rights Act… When they were sending the National Guard to ensure the black children could get into the public schools.. In the South, I had already been through school with the blacks, Asian, Mexican, Dutch, German, any child under the age was required to go to school. All Children went to school, and were schooled in the Whole person.
