Editorial: The Progressive Express Picks Up Speed in the Mitten State

With an assist from Michigan Republicans.

unstoppable

The breakneck speed of the runaway Progressive Express has been revved-up yet again by the Michigan Progressive Republican team of Huizenga-Walberg-Rogers-Miller-Camp-Upton-Benishek with their ‘Yes’ votes for the Ryan-Murray Spending Increase Budget.

Collectively, they are fueling the out-of-control federal government which, like a runaway locomotive, is thundering down the track of debt and lost liberty.

House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) has taken the occasion of the latest budget vote to bash conservatives (e.g. Michigan House representatives Amash & Bentivolio, conservatives groups like Heritage Action, and the conservative grassroots throughout our state), leading Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) to characterize Boehner’s attacks as “a breath of fresh air.”

Conservatives and libertarians in Michigan are well aware of the animosity that the GOP establishment has for them. The $648,500 raised in the third quarter for David Trott to defeat the incumbent Kerry Bentivolio, who has a Heritage Action voting record of 83%, is a testament to the GOP’s fear of the Tea Party and liberty groups within the state.

Many grassroots conservatives in Michigan will be urging their state representatives to join legislatures from 33 other states to use the U.S. Constitution to call for a Convention of States to carefully fortify the Constitution so that it can stop the runaway Progressive Express “stone-cold-dead” in its track.

Why trust something this critical to Washington, D.C. and its big-government “gravy-train drivers” on both sides of the aisle?

  1. Dick
Thank you so much for the mention of The Convention of States Project. As Michigans Outreach Coordinator for the COS Project, I am further fueled and inspired to continue efforts to inform the public; that “Yes, we DO have a voice, and that voice is now growing from whispers to undeniable levels.
You are a true American with the spirit of Liberty coarsing through your veins.
After speaking with you ( on numerous occasions) I am glad to know anyone interested in more details about The Convention of States Project will either be directed by you ( or this post ) too or website http://www.conventionofstates.com.
This is a site designed to be not only informative about Article 5 of The United States Constitution but also the starting place for getting involved.
Involvement at many levels is needed.
Once again, thank you for your patriotism.

  2. Dick,
This is great. Bob Allard from our group has been trying to get us to do something similar and we could not get the gest of it. When I saw this and what you did, I hope you do not mind that I sent it off to Bob to see if this is the type of thing he has been talking about.

What an uphill battle we face. However, we must continue the fight.

Thanks again for doing this..Great job.

  3. It really puts me off this website when I read such comments by The Glittering Eye about Pope Francis. Pope Francis is an outright communist and his doctrine is not consistent with what the Church has taught before the second vatican council. Please look up The Toaist background of Pope Francis by Tradition in Action. That’s just for starters.
