So, the Left is getting their violence on and showing their true Marxist face. Enlightening. Talk is cheap, comments are priceless:

Are they insane? Why, yes… they are. And it just keeps getting better. The Progressives seem to be just itching for a second, bloody civil war here in the States. The New Republic all but came right out and called for military intervention against the Tea Party:

What is a president in a presidential constitutional republic to do when faced with an intransigent, bull-headed faction among his people’s representatives?

Well, Boris Yeltsin, Russia’s first democratically elected president, was once faced with a similar situation exactly 20 years ago, in October 1993. The parliament, then called the Supreme Soviet, was increasingly against Yeltsin’s neoliberal economic reforms (suggested to him by young Western advisors like Jeffrey Sachs). On one hand, these reforms freed up the old Soviet command economy. On the other, they drove the country into chaos and violence, and left tens of millions impoverished, their savings nullified by skyrocketing inflation. The parliament, dominated by old Soviet conservatives, was increasingly against these reforms and refused to confirm Yeltsin’s key economic advisor. Yeltsin held a national referendum, a sort of national vote of confidence, which he won, and used it as a justification for what he did next.

Almost exactly 20 years ago, he dissolved parliament. The vice president and the speaker of the parliament dissolved Yeltsin’s presidency, and holed up with their supporters in the parliament’s headquarters, now known as “the White House.”

Then Yeltsin did this to it.

These guys are soooo subtle and clever! Not. Where she says ‘faction,’ read ‘Tea Party.’ TNR should paint their bad selves red and sport their soon-to-be-outlawed guns. Lock and load baby, but perhaps they should keep in mind that the other side is armed as well and a better shot. We may be non-violent, but we are not sheep and will fight if we have to. The Tea Party News Network points out several examples of how this has been building:

In August 2011, Froma Harrup, the head of the Editorial Writer’s Board, implied Obama use the military against the Tea Party.

An editorial cartoon published by Arizona Daily Star cartoonist David Fitzsimmons that same month was not so subtle in its suggestion that Obama deploy Navy SEALs to assassinate Tea Party Republicans.

Other liberals op-eds have suggested the same thing, while a columnist at the Washington Post agreed with a “longtime friend” that those responsible for this week’s shutdown should be beheaded.

Well, isn’t that warm and fuzzy? Perhaps the Left should employ their anti-bullying edicts to themselves. So, they want to line us up and shoot us, huh?

Here’s a taste of WaPo’s solutions to the problem of quelling the riffraff:

So how do we give our representatives what they deserve?

“No pay and must enroll in Obamacare,” urged an investment banker.

One longtime friend, a French teacher, offered her Francophile solution: “Off with their heads.” Mais oui.

On the street, working Washingtonians were no less brutal.

“Line ’em up and shoot ’em. I consider what they’re doing treason,” said a D.C. retiree who runs a T-shirt stand near a Capitol Hill Metro stop.

“Or make ’em spend a night in D.C. Jail,” said his partner.

At the kind of Capitol Hill bar with dark windows and a 3 p.m. drinking crowd, the TV was tuned to “Shutdown 2013” coverage.

“They’re acting like toddlers, and we should treat them like toddlers,” said Mr. Gin and Tonic. “We need to put them in a big playpen and give them a huge timeout.”

At Le Bon Cafe, where plenty of lawmakers get their cappuccinos every morning, the 24-year-old manager said that Americans should flood the streets in protest.

“If I don’t show up for work, I’d get fired,” he said. “We need to fire all of them.”

The commies are coming out of the woodwork and are literally going violently insane folks. Witness the drivel by a son of a former Chevron CEO (a friend described this as baby boomer masturbation):

The right-wing campaign to sabotage the Affordable Care Act has driven a lot of normally temperate people past the edge of exasperation. Pundits have described the crusade as crazy, stupid, arrogant, dishonest, cynical, ridiculous and politically suicidal. And that’s not just liberals talking. Jennifer Rubin, who blogs from the right for The Washington Post, says of the defunding obsessives, they “have absolutely no idea what they are doing.” Fox News seems perplexed, and eyes are rolling at The Weekly Standard. Big Business is appalled. Elders of the Republican right, like Karl Rove, are harrumphing their disapproval.

And yet the zealots press on, threatening to hold the rest of the government hostage to kill a health care reform that (a) is the law and (b) shows every sign of being a good thing for the country.

What’s happening here ain’t exactly clear. But I have a notion: The Republicans are finally having their ’60s. Half a century after the American left experienced its days of rage, its repudiation of the political establishment, conservatives are having their own political catharsis. Ted Cruz is their spotlight-seeking Abbie Hoffman. (The Texas senator’s faux filibuster last week reminded me of Hoffman’s vow to “levitate” the Pentagon using psychic energy.) The Tea Party is their manifesto-brandishing Students for a Democratic Society. Threatening to blow up America’s credit rating is their version of civil disobedience. And Obamacare is their Vietnam.

Once again, the Left accuses Conservatives of using communist techniques, which is simply the projection of their own tactics. Get a job and a clue already, you putz. My friend and compatriot Steve Schippert had this to say:

Son of former Chevron CEO… Likely daddy was fairly conservative. And earned well in the free market. His son, seemingly dealing with the typical guilt of sons who inherit what the did not earn, twist that guilt and project it on to everyone else. Because it’s the system. And mean people. And greed. And he and his ideas are above this.

Give away your money. Go earn something. Build something. And stop lecturing the world about fantastical systems that don’t work and have never worked.

Come to think of it, he can run for president.

And be Yeltsin-esque.

It appears the Leftists are now advancing from nudge, to shove, to shoot… Molon Labe, asshats. Come and get ’em! Would you like some tea with your threats? 😉
