Matt Taibbi: Bachmann Hitpiece Author Received Socialist Award

Matt Taibbi

On June 22, Rolling Stone magazine published a widely circulated attack on the character of Republican Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, by journalist Matt Taibbi.

The article, entitled, “Michele Bachmann’s Holy War,” included such passages as:

Bachmann is a religious zealot whose brain is a raging electrical storm of divine visions and paranoid delusions. She believes that the Chinese are plotting to replace the dollar bill, that light bulbs are killing our dogs and cats, and that God personally chose her to become both an IRS attorney who would spend years hounding taxpayers and a raging anti-tax Tea Party crusader against big government…

In modern American politics, being the right kind of ignorant and entertainingly crazy is like having a big right hand in boxing; you’ve always got a puncher’s chance. And Bachmann is exactly the right kind of completely batshit crazy. Not medically crazy, not talking-to-herself-on-the-subway crazy, but grandiose crazy, late-stage Kim Jong-Il crazy — crazy in the sense that she’s living completely inside her own mind, frenetically pacing the hallways of a vast sand castle she’s built in there, unable to meaningfully communicate with the human beings on the other side of the moat, who are all presumed to be enemies.

Taibbi makes no bones about being a ‘Liberal,’ but there is some evidence he is actually even further to the left.

The Boston raised son of NBC journalist Mike Taibbi, young Matt began his journalism career as a sports editor for the Moscow Times in 1992. He has also played baseball for the Red Army, pro-basketball in the Mongolian Basketball Association and worked for a private detective agency in Boston.

In recent years, Taibbi has contributed to the Democratic Socialists of America connected Democracy Now! and to The Nation, whose masthead is also loaded with DSAers and fellow traveling Marxists.

Less than a fortnight before his attack on Michele Bachmann, Matt Taibbi was awarded the annual Debs-Thomas-Bernstein Awards, sponsored by Boston Democratic Socialists of America.

The ceremony took place June 11, in Jamaica Plain. The reception honored a “long-time advocate for low wage workers and community empowerment,” SEIU official Rocio Saenz, along with “a best-selling author” Matt Taibbi. Co-Chairs were Lisa Clauson, Co-Director of Community Labor United and Chuck Collins of the far left Institute for Policy Studies.

History has shown that most of Boston Democratic Socialists of America awardees, are in fact D.S.A. members. Certainly they are virtually all Marxists.

Maybe Matt Taibbi should should tell us about his own true beliefs.

I’m betting he is not as open about his own convictions as Michele Bachmann is about hers.

And he looks just like Lurch

  • And here we see the perfect representation of all that is so very dead wrong with the socialists, communists and progressives of the world. Just read the article and draw your own conclusions.

Remember communists, there is only one thing more fearsome than a teed off American – that is an armed American who fights for home and family and freedom!

    You want to take America?

    Come on and TRY!!!

    Old saying:

The only thing more frightening to an enemy than a mad marine headed in your direction is the thousand or so buddies of his/hers coming up with them.

    Semper Fi AMERICA!!!

    • NZKIWI says:

This guy IS American, though. What continues to astound me is the vitriol that socialists seem to reserve for FEMALE contenders for POTUS. Look at the hiding that Palin has taken and continues to take from the left.

I have tought about this a bit and I cannot come up with any sensible explanation or even theory.

  • Tim says:

Communists are dishonest by nature, so don’t look for Matt to let us in on his Marxist creds. Notice how communists always “cover” their true intentions in coded language, like “Hope and Change” or “Fundamental transformation” or “Democracy” or like when Obama says, “Let me be clear” you know right away he’s about to LIE.

  • CDL says:

It’s so funny to see how socialists and marxists can’t even practice what they preach in their own lives.

Their organizations are always taking donations from rich people that got rich through capitalism.

They never pool their own money with like minded believers and divvy it up equally amongst themselves.

You’d think that everyone that’s a member of the Democratic Socialists of America would live in a commune somewhere on the east or west coast of America, pool all their money from their various pursuits (such as book writing, newspaper publishing, etc.), and equally divide their earnings as needed. But that never happens.

If they really believed in marxism and socialism we’d be able to drive down the highway and say, “look over there, that’s where that socialist/marxist group lives.” But we can’t.

What is stopping them from living as socialists/marxists right now?

Oh, that’s right. They want you to live that way. Not themselves.

  • frank says:

This guy’s description of Bachman is exactly what I want in a candidate to run this country. Communists are the “domestic enemy within” dedicated to destroying our country and our freedom; who cares what they think, or if they are offended.

All freedom loving patriotic Americans should go out of their way to “offend” communists. The more “offended” they are, the more secure our country and our freedom is. Did we wory about not “offending” Hitler and Hirohito during WW II?

This country was not founded for communists, they don’t belong here, this is not their country. If that is racism or intolerance, then I am all for racism and intolerance. It is a survival measure.

  • Tammy says:

Man, does Matt Taibbi ever have a sloping forehead.
    Just sayin’.

  • sodacrackers2 says:

This guy is projecting his own mind on poor Michele. If his communist/marxist ideas are so wonderful, why does he not tell who he is, where he is coming from, and what he hopes will be the future of America. Are there any honest liberals?

    • Victoria says:

I agree with that comment…that “this guy is projecting his own mind on Michelle.” He is a sick puppy! poisoned by the extreme liberal left crazies. Michelle is authentic, brilliant, confident, and a great human being.

  • Outstanding bit of work here

Nobody roots out the reds like you, sir

  • Robert Hersey says:

Add this to the list of reason why I let my subscription to Rolling Stone expire after 10+ years .

  • 1389AD says:

It’s ironic that the vast majority of present-day Russians know only too well what communism is all about, and they want no part of it.

Matt Taibbi is a very slow learner indeed. He’s also a crude, potty-mouthed jerk.

  • Philip_Daniel says:

Despite his Leftism, Matt Taibbi did some great work early in his career on the Uzbek despot Islam Karimov. Since then, however, he’s drifted far into the moonbat-sphere like so many others on the Left, replete with kneejerk hostility to any person and any idea to the right of him…
